Really helpful and continuously improving
This is my first year using the app and it has helped with timing of planting, especially when I just moved half way around the world. Although basics are the same, dates are totally different. Loved looking through the Requested Features, and seeing what more will come which will help later this year, or even better for next planting season.
Really well thought out app with your growing season
Love that it gives the grow guide per plant based on your own frost dates.
However so many of the flower sow outside dates are wrong. It doesn’t seem to differentiate between hardy annuals and tender annuals. Many hardy annuals can, and should, be sown outside in the fall and early spring when it is cold. Ammi, cornflower, rudbeckia, and nigella to name a few. These are the plants who self seed and those seeds come up the next year happy and healthy despite sitting in the soil outside through all the cold winter.
I also dislike the Americanisms present - it’s cornflower, not Bachelors Buttons, to everyone outside North America. Just one example.

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I forwarded your feedback to our flower expert (I am definitely NOT a flower expert, but I am learning 😉) to add fall sow dates. Also, I've updated the name of Bachelor's Button to Cornflower. It's definitely the more common name, thanks for pointing that out! We try to be globally-friendly, but we're all in the US or Canada so there are some biases that we have to overcome. Cheers and happy gardening, Peter
Fixed sizes. No square foot
It has a good range of plants and gives some advice on companion planting. But the room that each plant takes up is fixed and is not compatible with square foot gardening method. Instead of taking up one square for a tomato it takes up four. I could make the entire bed four times the size and but other plants are different. There is no option to label the plant with the date planted so that when you click it. Also, the app tries to let you classify a plant by variety, in case you have different types in the same bed. But there is a VERY limited selection (about 5-10).
So I will continue to use word to plan my beds.
