Had my pod point installed for a few weeks now, never really bothered with the app as was using the scheduled charging on my Tesla to charge during the off-peak hours. After being asked to generate some kWh data by work, I looked on the app and discovered that hardly any of the charging cycles had been logged😡. The ones that had been logged, where timed and priced incorrectly. After reading other reviews, it’s clear you have a few serious issues with this app. I tried the reset/disconnect from WiFi and reconnect again and the Podpoint seems to connect to WiFi (no indication on the app if it is connected or not). I then decided to use the scheduled charging feature on the app incase it was my car causing the issue. This Doesn’t even let me select a time, the box with the time selection is unresponsive. I have deleted and reinstalled the app, with the latest version and still no joy. This needs sorting ASAP Podpoint as this app really isn’t fit for purpose.

Great App With only 1 minor issue and 1 suggestion.
I’m not having any issues that other users are complaining of and use the home and public charging easily enough.
1 thing I’m not confident about is the stats on cost per home charge tho. I’m convinced I’m actually spending less than the app suggests. I come home from work at 6 and plug in but the car is set to accept a charge between 11 & 7 off peak. Does the app assume higher cost per kWh because I’ve plugged in during peak times? I think it might be but I may be wrong. It’s only that my Tesla stats app suggests charging costs that are lower! When viewing previous charges I think the app should show costs incurred peak and off peak as-well as the energy used in each period.
1 suggestion would be to have the app remember the public charge point your plugged into if the app is closed altogether. When re opening app it currently shows the map to pick a charge point dispute already being connected and charging.
Despite the above it works. I think app updates need to roll out a little quicker tho and install some confidence into those onlookers looking to acquire a home charge unit as the list of negative reviews don’t install much confidence in onlookers wanting to acquire a home charger. I’m relatively happy tho and hope this review installs some confidence in those looking to acquire a home charge unit.
Pretty good experience so far
I have used multiple pod point rapid chargers (mainly at Lidl’s around the north of the UK) and fast chargers. I also now have a pod point home charger. I have seen horror stories about installations going badly, and unusable chargers as well as the app itself not being reliable. I have found that whilst it’s not perfect it certainly amongst the quickest and most reliable interface (beats charge your car app and chargers for ease of use by a mile, in my experience). It’s very easy to identify chargers and connect to them, I was a bit gutted at one recently when I discovered that it could only charge CHAdeMO or CCS at one time, but a very courteous BMW i3 owner gave up his charge early for me. It was free after all, so I can’t complain at all.
I do occasionally find using free chargers that my session is not captured on the app, but usually it’s just a bit slow receive the data. I have noticed and agree with other reviewers that if you use a charge timer in your car like my leaf has, the app completely fails to record the actual ‘charge’ time, and instead gives you the start, end and duration of the car being plugged in. However, the kW delivered appears correct which is of much more interest to me. It’s also nice to be able to download the data to review in a spreadsheet, but I am an analyst by trade so I appreciate that won’t be for everyone!

Regarding free sessions not showing within the 'Stats' section of the app it would be great to understand more so we can investigate. Could you let us know what units you experienced this issue on? Sometimes there may be a lag in sending the data but we are always trying to improve communications to make the experience more seamless for our EV drivers.
We are also delighted to hear you use a lot of the features offered on our app. We understand your frustration with the start and end time displaying the entire duration your car is plugged in this is something we have been looking into and hope to change in the near future.
