Description
The Instavolt App runs alongside our contactless payment option and provides another simple way to access our award winning DC Rapid Electric Vehicle charging network. In addition to the functional benefits the App provides (i.e. location mapping, navigation and VAT receipts), customers using our EV charging App are given exclusive access to the following rewards programs, which are not available to those using our contactless payment option.
1. Membership to the ‘Volts’ reward program, where customers can earn Volts for every kWh they use on the InstaVolt network, which can then be exchanged for charging credits.
2. Access to the ‘Invite and Earn' promotion which allows customers to earn charging credits just by referring our services to others.
3. Receive alerts to partner promotions when you start a charge at locations where one of our partners is running a special offer.
4. The amenities our locations have to offer are displayed as a collection of easily recognised icons representing the types of amenity available e.g. Cafe, Restaurant, Toilets etc.

Easier than service stations
We travel from Leicester to Devon regularly and until Now have struggled to charge our car without hassle. We tried various charge points at services on the M5 but always with issues. So we decided to stop at McDonald’s in Bristol just off the M5 and it was amazing charger available easy to use and hassle free. And you can get refreshments easy life would definitely recommend
Ok first start but needs some polish
Interested in using this vs simple tap to pay for charge status and reward points but its missing the virtual RFID card in Apple Wallet that the Chargepoint+ app provides so more faffing to start charge (and a lot of latency waiting for app to communicate with charger to start vs tapping from Apple Wallet). Also, using app to start charge easy to slide Chademo when want CCS (separate them a bit). App couldn’t communicate with charger to end charge, disconnecting still left the charger as authorised so if had driven off could have been used by someone else. Normal stop button seemed to be overriden by app so in the end had to press emergency stop.

Thank you for your review, at the moment the virtual RFID card is not an available feature, but we have forwarded this to our App Team for their review.
We have investigated the issue you faced with the stop charge function in our App and found that this only happens on this type of model of charge station installed at the site where you can press on Emergency stop button on the station. Good experience
We have used Instavolt a number of times previously but always just tapped our payment card. Today we used the app to register and pay for the charge. It was really nice being able to see the rate of charge, cost and other data in real time
One upgrade I would like to see is an integration with Apple Pay so no need to have a registered card on the app
