Description
Rassel – Pocket Shaker transforms your iPhone to a shaken percussion instrument. Just pick up the device and shake it. This initial version comes with four different instruments: Egg, Shaker, Tambourine and Bells. Just swipe the screen to change between them.
Unlike similar apps, Rassel is based on a unique audio rendering engine that accounts for continuous velocity changes based on how the sampled instruments are agitated. The device’s gyroscope is directly mapped to this velocity which makes any movement sound the way a real instrument would. We’ve tried to fine-tune the app to be as lifelike as possible, both in sound and handling response. We think we got pretty close.

Fun little app!
Now works fine on my (old) iPhone. Big thanks to Klevgrand for fixing this so very quickly. Free fun app and so no huge expectations. The UI has the same intuitive clear and minimalistic style I’ve come to expect from Klevgrand. Easy to pick up and use whenever the mood strikes.

Amazingly responsive and feels uncannily like the real thing even though I’m playing it on a 12.9” iPad Pro!
There have been numerous attempts of using the accelerometer for percussive use in the past, but this is definitely one of the best.
Shaker Maker
Great free app for shaker sounds. Writing this to counter the idiot who called it ‘useless’ as no connectivity. If you want to record it use a microphone as you would for a real percussion instrument.
