The best thing we can say about Resy is that while we were checking it out, we ended up with four separate dinner reservations. Maybe it’s the high-quality photos, the local review snippets, or the curated nature of the restaurants showcased—but something’s definitely working.
Really intuitive UI but missing the menus
Really good app, intuitive, easy to book and share booking with guests - only downside is you can’t see the menus and could use more pictures of the atmosphere
Resy would be nothing without Google’s API
I just made three attempts at booking for a table for 7 through Resy’s app, and all three of them have crashed. putting aside the grotesque fonts, unnecessarily edgy loading screens, poor use of color, terrible accessibility, hard to find action buttons: this would normally get a pass if perhaps the owners just chose to go for a different design direction temporarily. However, the app doesn’t even work. it doesn’t go through with bookings and the only way to use it is through Google maps. It’s losing business for restaurant customers what should be a commodity action like booking tables. if you’re one of the founders of Resy and are reading this, consider bringing some changes in your designing engineering teams.
