Description

Welcome to Retro Football Management, the game that breathes new life into classic football seasons. This simple, fun and free football manager game allows you to take control of the greatest club sides from history and complete a game in less time than it takes to finish your daily commute.

We are adding new seasons every month to the game, which currently includes 40 seasons from 8 countries across 5 decades, with the European Cup and Champions League.
Pick the era when you fell in love with football and manage the legends of your youth. Turn an average Coventry team into European Champions, sell the players you never liked and buy the ones you did. Unlike other Management games, your clubs past mediocrity will not stop you signing the world’s best players - assuming you have the money of course!

As you play the game you will earn points for hitting various challenges, like winning 3 matches in a row or being top of the league after 10 games. Points can be exchanged for squad enhancements in the shop that will help take your team from also-rans to champions; spend them wisely to help make your club the greatest in the world. Points can also be used to unlock extra classic seasons like the 1988/1989 Italian with European Cup.

The app will always be free to download and contains in-app purchases if you want to enhance your team more quickly but does not require you to spend money in order to win. It’s designed to be a fair test of your gaming skill and football knowledge; you against the computer, just like it used to be.

You will start with a small squad that always is in need of some work to sell players to generate cash and then buy better ones for less; your transfer aptitude will go a long way to determining your success. The club’s board will set you season-long objectives, hit them and get rewarded with cash and stadium expansions, but if you miss them you will be fired – classic game over!

You can play 5 different games at the same time, so you can build world-class sides from 5 different decades—Pele to United in the 1960s, Leeds sign Cruyff in 1973, Spurs sign Maradona to play with Gascoigne in 1988—whoever your team is, Retro Football Management gives you the chance to pack your squad with legends and dominate world football.

Why wait? Download the game for free now and take a nostalgic trip through the history of gaming and football!

Best Retro Football Game Ever

This game is a wonderful nod back to the days of simple, classic football games that I spent hours and hours playing on a ZX Spectrum as a kid. This game heavily involves random number generation, so don’t get too angry when you unthinkably lose 4-0 to a team you out-class in every aspect, but in the main you won’t have a problem. Just pick a season from history and keeping playing it until you amass an ultimate squad from that era, become league champions and win the European Cup. The only improvements I’d like to make would be to add the FA Cup (England) to give it an extra knockout dimension and give you the chance to win the elusive Treble, relegation/promotion when you continue playing from a certain season, and weirdly despite signing foreign players, they continue to appear in the transfer market playing for other clubs whilst they’re playing for you. But other than that - almost perfect! Goodbye free time, hello square-eyes! Thank you :)

Developer Response ,

Thanks a lot of this very useful feedback. This year we will be adding subs and player ratings. In early 2021 we plan to release 2 new modes to the game which will contain the FA Cup and promotion and relegation. Regards Coast Gaming

Basic but Amazing

Exactly this, the game is very basic. You only pick 11 players and only manage fitness, injuries and suspensions. You have an unlimited transfer window and can only search for players from your selected league, but after every game you are shown a few foreign players to buy which is pure RNG. Transfers are glitchy, both me and Chelsea brought Deco this season (high twin rate). Season takes half hour.
But... and its a big but... the game feels like something I felt as a youngster playing Championship Manager, its amazing for on the go. Sure if want the FM experience on a mobile, this is not it. But if you want to click away, win the league season after season, win game after game (mostly, theres still the 1-0 loss randomly!) and amass a team of Galacticos, this IS the game for you.

Takes me back to original Championship Manager

This is a good effort at a very simplistic football management simulator. It has a lot of similarities to the original Championship Manager game that was based on the 93’ season. The developers could easily take more ideas from that game and implement them. More variation on match text would be nice and a little polishing of some of the existing text... “ball playered through” comes up a lot and just bugs me that little bit!
It’s a nice ad system that rewards £1M for watching, but a couple of the ads can’t be closed and you get stuck on them so forced to quit and reload. The candy crush saga ad is one of them and needs fixing.
All in all, good for a bit of fun to pass some time, you can get through a season in next to no time which is nice, as you quest to build a squad of ultimate superstars!
