Excellent Doorbell and App

I purchased the Ring Video Doorbell 2 and Chime as I’m disabled so often miss parcels and people as to slow answering the door. This video Doorbell is brilliant as it was so simple to set up and the picture and sound quality is great. I signed up to the subscription as for the minimal cost I can save my recordings as you never know when you might need them. The App is great as I can set up my Doorbell from the comfort of my chair. I haven’t experienced any problems at all. I get motion alerts and when the doorbell rings I instantly get notification so I can see and speak to the person straight away. I find as I’m disabled that when I’m upstairs I no longer have to try and rush to get to the door as I can now just speak to them through the doorbell which is extremely helpful and now I never miss a delivery whether I’m at home or out shopping. This is one of the best devices I have ever bought.

Ring playback not smooth on iPhone 13 and missing events

For about a few months now the playback on both ring video doorbell pro 2 and stick up cam 3rd gen has been laggy when watching video, not really bad but not smooth. The footage from both cameras is fine when the footage is downloaded to watch. The footage is also very laggy when trying to scrub the video to speed up, instead of watching someone move around faster it lags and jumps about so it is annoying to find the part you want to watch. I have tried logging out and deleting/reinstalling the app but nothing has improved. I have tried restarting my router/devices again no luck. Nothing has changed with my setup since this last worked fine, i believe it is an app issue. Weird because an iPhone 8 which is very old now can scrub and watch video just fine, so appears to be an issue with the software for iPhone 13 or the latest iOS. I hope this will be resolved so I can remove the low star rating as otherwise the app and cameras are great.

Update: I’ve now noticed my cameras are missing events, my stick up cam completely missed me and another person walking around and my ring doorbell pro 2 missed me walking onto the drive today. I’ve always been impressed how ring never seems to miss an event but just lately I’m far from happy - I’m starting to consider changing from ring. Just to think the prices went up and since that’s happened the service and quality has significantly dropped 👎

This update needs an update…

Edit: After nearly 3 weeks of having to app the app opened with an iPad constantly (to save motion settings) the update put out 5 hours ago finally resolves this. However the laggy/sluggyness in playback or motion events still hasn’t been resolved. This is not my connection or my device and remains in place even when footage has been downloaded.

Never really had any issues with any of my ring devices apart from the worldwide outage that took ages to resolve itself here in the UK at least. An update was sent out on Tuesday and since then my entire ring devices are terrible. My home is connected to super fast FTTP and the RSSI on all devices are green and in 40s. The latest update now all my motion events are laggy and display “loading” on every single event. Irregardless of viewing from a 4G/5G/home WiFi connection it’s still the same. Even when you download said motion events. It’s still the same. So this is clearly a ring side issue. This has ONLY started since the recent update and it’s the same on every person I know who has updated the app. Ring support = useless. Claim it’s my “home connection” and even after storing all videos and resetting my devices individually. And doing the same for my home connection it’s still exactly the same. It’s approaching a week now that my entire ring service has been like this. For a worldwide security/home safety company. It really seems they couldn’t care less if my services aren’t working correctly.
