Rugby Nations 22 12+

Great addictive game. Really satisfying when trying to pull off certain moves like flinging it out wide with miss passes to your winger. Not littered with adds and makes you graft to improve the team/stadium (not in a tedious way) However here is how I’d improve the game.

For attack I feel being able to create ‘set pieces’ so putting players in certain positions to allow you to be creative with your attack, be this an option on the Home Screen or from preset ones already made by the developers you can choose from, (maybe having a timer on these too to stop really powerful set pieces being abused.

Adding on the previous recommendation, the option to run when I put my 10 back for the drop goal. Feel I could of scored countless times by just running from a deeper position but my kicker is stuck still.

Another feature is when I’m overtime having the opposition kick for touch even though they are on my 22 breaks the immersion. Few times they nearly score and they chose to kick out and end the game rather then going over, yes I understand they still wouldn’t win the game but cmon. Score the try.

Multiplayer mode too please 😩😩

Littered with ads and built around micro-transactions. For example, several players will be injured per game with the only way to heal them being linked to in game purchases. The only way to improve your team is through packs that take hours to open for a player that isn’t any good, and the only way to speed this up is micro-transactions. There are many more examples.

For all this though the gameplay isn’t that good - can they not invest some of the money they so cynically try to prise from their players into an AI that doesn’t kick the ball out to end the game even within one score of winning? No, they wouldn’t want to, because the only way to to play more than 4 games without waiting hours for another game is - you guessed it - micro-transactions.

Money grubbing game, that only remains relevant because nobody else is trying to make a rugby game. Not worth the time you’ll spend waiting to get through the ads that pop up every few minutes.

Having played RN 16 for years, thought I would try this game. Overall it’s enjoyable. But the fact you have to wait for your team’s energy to restore (sometimes for 50+ min), or watch multiple adverts to unlock things, is ridiculous. I’d just ask people to make a one-off payment for the game - the adverts and time waiting is so terrible. At least with RN 16, as simple as it is, you can play whenever you want - you can’t with this game, unless you want to constantly pay money.

Also, trying to get any form of possession when you’re defending against a stronger team is almost impossible; four of your players in a ruck compared to one of theirs still isn’t good enough. As soon as HT of FT is reached, your players just happen to knock-on the ball, despite the fact that you could’ve scored easily; when you swipe to take a shot at the posts, the wind changes direction blowing the ball off course.

A disappointment overall.
