Access your S3 storage directly from the Files app, Finder, and other applications on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Developed by the creator of Working Copy, this application provides seamless integration with S3-compatible storage services.
Once configured, S3 buckets appear alongside other cloud storage providers, with files available on demand. Files are downloaded as needed and automatically synchronized back to S3 when modified.
The app supports a wide range of S3-compatible services, including AWS S3, BackBlaze B2, CloudFlare R2, DigitalOcean Spaces, MinIO, and others.
Files and directories can be uploaded through the system share sheet on iOS and the Services menu on macOS. The app remembers preferred upload destinations for different file types, streamlining file management.
Pre-signed sharing links can be generated directly from Finder and the Files app, allowing temporary access to files for up to seven days.
Support for server-side encryption with customer-provided keys (SSE-C) and client-side AES-GCM encryption compatible with the Amazon S3 Encryption Client.
Comprehensive support for Shortcuts automation enables operations such as listing, downloading, uploading, and moving files.
The app is free to use with a single server. A Pro Unlock is required for multiple servers, available as a one-time purchase or a monthly subscription, with access shared across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. A one-week free trial allows users to evaluate Pro features before purchase.
This app is awesome. Does everything I need for this type of app. Simple and stable! Exactly what you need to connect for various platforms. Please continue to maintain this and I am happy to BuyYouACoffee once a year to support that development!
Potentially dangerous
Eepock
I bought this app having moved over from Windows. I needed a client to easily access S3 storage as sometimes I need to upload files. At first it was working as intended, however this past week I noticed that files in our cloud storage were randomly being renamed. Something was adding numbers onto the end of filenames, like “2 “, “ 3”.Even after upgrading security on the bucket it was still happening. Then yesterday I noticed that my CPU usage was through the roof, and upon checking processes I noticed that this app was using tons of CPU. I killed the process, but it started back up again. I eventually killed it and uninstalled the app. Since then I’ve had no more incidents of files being renamed.I suspect this app is doing something dangerous, or has a bug which causes problems. Do not download!
Developer Response
I have never heard of such issues before. Please email me at anders@s3files.app as I would like to learn more.
Clunky
notreadbyhumans
Whilst it certainly does what it says on the tin, it’s fairly clunky to use: constantly goes into a paused state, with no obvious way to unpause; appears to be little to no caching of bucket contents (no keep downloaded option); and diagnostics not particularly intuitive to use.
Exactly as advertised
James.G
Does exactly what it says it does, which for a utility like this is exactly what I wanted.
Fix issue from last update that could cause editor from in-app browser to freeze.
