Sell it Back currently accepts Books and Media (CDs, DVDs, Blu-Ray's and Video Games). All Items are required to pass the acceptance criteria. Items that fail to meet these acceptance criteria will be rejected by our inspection team and recycled.

The app works fine but
The app works absolutely fine but I gave 3 stars because I was appalled at the price I was offered! Brand new books, read only once that cost me £40-£50 were going to be bought back for 0.18p! I scanned about 20 books (I’m clearing out my flat) and if I bought these from the shop I would have spent nearly £200 and this app offered me £19. No, thanks! I went on Facebook marketplace and I sold them effortlessly for the price I expected.

Thank you so much for your review. We apologise for the disappointment caused. The pricing algorithm is complex and factors in a myriad of permutations and combinations, that unfortunately cannot be altered to cater to individual customers.
We hope you appreciate the difference between selling to us or other similar marketplaces like us (business) versus selling directly to the end customer/user (individual).
There is absolutely no obligation for you to sell to us and you are free to do as you please with your property. The important thing here is that your books have found a book lover and that’s all that matters!

A real find
I’ve been trying to get rid of several hundred books and since lockdown am finding charity shops don’t want donations as they’ve been inundated. It seems that everyone has had a clear out at the same time. I have started selling them to Sellitback and can’t recommend this app highly enough. Yes, it’s surprising and disappointing when an expensive book is rejected but the company make it very clear that they operate according to demand. Bestsellers and genre fiction is often rejected or a very low offer made. On the other hand, textbooks and self-help books have often netted me £2 or £3. Sellers are not entitled to receive what they think their books are worth, nor are they forced to use this app!

Operationally a mess, don’t trust
It took 3.5 weeks for SellItBack to mark my package as having arrived — major delays in their warehouse? I wasn’t kept informed, and thought I wouldn’t get paid at all. And their password reset email was sent showing my password in plain text! Terrible, terrible security practices. It seems a young & overwhelmed company, which might go out of business soon? Not trustworthy — try WeBuyBooks instead.
