Sweet...

Been with cex for a while now, they have bought my iPhones when I no longer wanted them, and paid me what I was happy with directly into my bank account. Only just decided to see if they did an app for my phone, and thankfully they do. Installed it and checked my account details straight away, only had to change my mobile number. From what I have seen of it up to now it seems sweet. Another reviewer mentioned a scanner being removed from the app, for me personally I don’t really mind there not being one, but if one was put back in I would be glad of it if I needed something like that in the future. I will defo be back to update this review regularly, hopefully never negatively.

The memory of a Gold fish

The app itself is solid as a shop. But it never remembers who you are from one day to the next. CEX tell you to reinstall the app if this happens, but that doesn’t help. Every time you start the app you have to go through the introduction of how to use the app. It never remembers your login details so you have to go through that process every time you open it. Has no copy/ paste at the login screen so you can’t save time on your details. The email reminders for items coming in stock rarely work. Went through my wishlist which is set up with email reminders yesterday and over two dozen items had been restocked and I’ve not been alerted about any of them.
CEX also needs to figure out something with their delivery charges because ordering multiple items and having to pay individual delivery charges on each item is ridiculous. You could buy 5 items that could be posted together for around £3.20 and end up paying 5x £1.95. It completely kills the idea of purchasing multiple low cost items as you end up paying way over the odds for them with the individual delivery charges. I get why they do it; because the items are at random stores. But that cost shouldn’t be passed on to the consumer.

Hey, your valuable feedback is really appreciated. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app which should resolve the login issues as it could be due to the app not being on the latest version. Also, the items are sourced and delivered from different stores across the UK as per their availability so as per our policy, items valued up to £100 will incur a delivery charge of £1.95 per individual item. Any individual items purchased over the value of £100 does not incur a delivery charge.

Nope, still not fixed

App still messed up in search box. If use space bar on keypad to move back along the text entered, once you press a character it then moves cursor to end of the currently inputted text. It is almost as if the developers are still learning how to make an app.
The CEX card (main reason for having the app) is no longer available in the App so cannot be scanned in-store & no account history of sales/purchases is available in the app either! Having the app was handy when passing by the store & may not have wallet with you. If could add the CEX to the Apple Wallet itself, I may be able to let this slide but if I want to buy something in store if passing, the employee now has to ask me for personal info in front of other customers to bring my account up!
All the useful bits of the previous versions of the app have been removed! Who signed off on this? The customers seem to be the ones being used to beta test builds of this app instead of the developers doing their jobs!
