Oops, dot release incoming...
Well that was summer, all 3 days of it. I’ll now be spending my days with far-too-regular trips to the loft, looking at all the Halloween decorations and coming up with wildly optimistic plans for a horror-wonderland… when in fact it will be a couple of those stretchy cotton-wool webs and maybe a sad looking skeleton somewhere. Sigh… one day I’ll be a Disney Imagineer, all I need now is some talent.
Back to reality of Argos App and we have completely overhauled the basket area. Full refactor, moved some libraries around and plumbed in a whole new set of services. And yet it looks completely the same… totally new and different, but very much the same… bit like Trigger’s broom.
Ratings and Reviews
New toys are great, but consistent experience first!
For a company with such potential, they let the guy with the talent write the app updates! Why not let them loose on an Instagram account - oh no that’s locked?! Facebook Page - nope?! - are they connected to the app - nope?! Does it allow notifications - ummm nope?! but it does have it AR - ummm yes?
As for the app, forget the AR, build a consistent experience for your customers before doing shiny stuff and whizz bang type stuff. How can the Argos Card be so good and this so bad.
Overall, I sincerely hope the Sainsbury’s investment starts to make Argos a consistent brand because at the moment it’s so busy looking at the smaller details it’s getting left behind on the bigger picture - in quick changing times this app needs a good working over before going Oooooh!! about AR.
I’m an NHS keyworker, this weekend i decided to order a new wardrobe as i’m decorating my room. The last thing i needed was added stress. I tried to order a wardrobe from the app and it wouldn’t let me as it kept showing a blank white screen. I then went online and placed an order, when i’d entered my bank details the system crashed and i didn’t receive an order number or an email, i checked my bank account and the money had been taken. I was furious when i saw this, i stayed on the live chat option for 2 hours and was never put through i then decided to call the number and it was just an automated message telling me that i should be refunded in 5 days. It’s just not good enough Argos, you’ve ruined my weekend and now i’m going to be worried sick about whether or not i will be refunded this is the LAST thing i needed during this time as i still have to work full time at the hospital. It’s just absolutely shocking and disgraceful
EDIT: i received the money back in my account in 2 days later. I just tried to buy it again and the same thing has happened. You have taken my money again and it’s come up as an error! I will never shop with you again.
Scam App do not use!
Argos is currently taking money from customers without goods available. The app crashes when you try to make orders. When you call them the first thing that it says is “don’t worry you’ll get your money back in 8 days just re order for now” I ordered a chair £200 so for me to order it twice would of meant Argos having £400 of my money gaining interest in their account and not mine.
Absolutely disgraceful. I would love to meet the person in charge of this company because they have no idea what they’re doing. I would remove this app until it works if they have no intention of fixing it.
Apple should consider removing this app as it’s not fit for purpose, judging by the 5 stars it’s received id also question if all those reviews are legitimate. You’d think they had invented an app that cures cancer but in reality it’s a shopping app that takes your money, crashes, says don’t worry pay twice and we will refund you in 8 days for the first one? Erm hello? 5 star app? I don’t think so.
