Shift Worker 4+

Just started a new job with shifts so thought a paid app might be the better option. Not sure that was the right choice though. No update in four years. Data going missing after iOS updates sounds a bit scary. Why no updates?

My issues on latest iOS, iPhone 15 pro, and multiple iPads as of Aug 2024 as follows:

- No login or sync so any edits need multiple emails out and imports between devices via email, yuk!
- Can’t export file so need to email even to yourself!
- Import not intuitive. Took me an age to figure out the import process. Could be user issue of course.
- Import not complete on one older iPad. Notes missing.
- Online help just non existent.
- Can’t select a day and add shift rotation.
- very manual process. Should be able to replicate pattern so that it auto fills.

In short, this app really needs some love and to ask for money without the commitment required is disappointing.

Having tried every single other free alternative, I can say for certain that this app is worth the couple of quid. By far and a way the most user friendly and easy to use app. I have a very ‘all over the place’ 12 week pattern, which alternative apps do not allow you to accommodate in to the calendar, however this app allows you to completely customise the shift pattern to whatever yours may be.

The single thing I would like added is a ‘today’ button on the bottom of the calendar screen (there’s plenty of space) - to take you immediately to the current day. This would be very useful when you’re looking months and months ahead for what you’ll be working on a specific date, as it will take you straight back to today rather than having to manually do it.

Firstly, this app should not be solely relied upon for keeping important 'diaries'. The app is really good for shift workers, especially those in a couple as you can have both shift calendars to hand (subject to both persons downloading the app and creating their shift patterns). The app developer is very good at giving advice and is understanding on the bugs. He is willing to listen to suggestions and generally offers guidance to those in need. Since downloading this app a few years back there have been many updates which are fairly regular to keep the app stable. Unfortunately, yes, on iOS updates, the app will delete it's data, but a backup should be made in paper form (as even the email method within the app does not restore properly after an iOS update). Overall a great app and fit for purpose the majority of the time!
