Shoppylist: Grocery List 4+

I like this - it does almost everything I want from a Shopping List app. I congratulate the developer for producing a well designed app without over-complicating things. There are lots of useful Categories and Items already built-in but it is very easy and simple to set-up your own. The Category features are very good and greatly assist in getting Items to list in the desired order. The fact it supports the Apple Watch is great - the joys of having your shopping list automatically on your watch should not be underestimated. Just one thing though - when scrolling items on your Watch it is very easy to tap on an Item by mistake (as if purchased). If you do this, there is no way to recall the Item from the Watch - you have to dig out your iPhone, launch the app and find the Item and unselect it to put it back on your list. A simple little “Undo” function on the Watch, or something similar would improve things. I just need a way to reverse the selection on the Watch and this would be nigh on perfect.

This app was fantastic, with the ability to access my shopping list in the today view, and tick items off on the widget as I shopped. Sadly the latest update has downgraded from the old style functional widget to the newer dumb widget. This new widget is entirely useless, only showing a partial list and with no way of ticking items off as you get them. Such a shame a one great app has now been ruined.

Update: Turns out the disappearance of the old widget was fixable. While there was no way to restore it through settings, it did come back after restarting the phone.

I just hope the old widgets remain available in iOS 17, as I don’t believe the new widgets will be as good, even with the interactive functionality that’s getting added.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Unfortunately old widget won’t be available anymore. But I am pretty sure you will prefer new ones. You can use them everywhere just the same way you did before and you will be able to choose any list unlike old widgets. Thank you again for your comment.

An easy to use basic shopping list app whereby you can either section off your items into categories and in order according to suit the order you do your shopping in, or just plonk everything on the one list like I do!.
Especially nice that it's free too!!
