Simple Interval Timer (SIT) can be used for any kind of interval training, such as running, cycling, HIIT sessions (including Tabata method), stretching, etc.
SIT is exactly what you would expect. An interval timer, which is easy to set up and use. It features a nice plain design, with no unnecessary controls.
Adjust Number of Sets, Action and Break duration to your needs and you are ready to go!
On the iOS an extra switch control allows you to prevent the screen from dimming.
SIT remembers the last 5 configurations you have used. Swipe left across the Settings screen to switch to another configuration.
SIT can run in the background, while you are playing music, watching videos or doing anything else on your iOS device.
SIT Watch features the same simplicity as the iOS app while offering the same functionality, plus it will measure your heartbeat during the workout sessions. The recordings will be available in the Apple's Health app.
SIT Watch runs independently of the phone, so no need to have your phone around during your workouts (although you will need your phone during the very first time you launch SIT watch).
SIT lets you avoid any tedious set up and focus on your training!
My iWatch only goes up to WatchOS8 so I can’t get the new built in interval timer on the Apple running app. But that problem is solved by this great simple interval timer. It is perfect for my needs, which is a once per week sprinting session of 14 one minute runs as hard as you can go interspersed with one minute breaks. I do not need anything more complicated than this. Simple to use, this is a great piece of work by the app developer.

I use this app for my musical studies. Setting a number of 10, 15 or 20 minute sets with mini breaks in between for recovery between sets enables me to focus more sharply, plan more effectively and ensure I achieve what I set out to do. It is very easy to use, and very simple. Highly recommended.

I use this for a run/walk programme. Easy to use, gives a ten second countdown to start and uses a different tone when you have finished also works with my Bluetooth headphones. Only reason I’ve not given five stars it sometimes freezes when I lock my phone when running, the only way I’ve found for this to stop happening is to not have the app open (so it’s running in the background) before I lock the phone.

This is exactly what i was looking for- i searched 100’s of apps and all were too fussy, and offering complicated workouts. I just wanted exactly this, on my watch, to tell me when to start/stop my own pre determined exercises. The only improvement suggestion i would love to see is for my watch to vibrate instead of beep at the end of each countdown so i can listen to music on my headphones.
