Great to see it again…just!
I and a lot of my fellow RoG fans were very pleased to see this superb game back in the app store after a long absence and also nice to see it back under the Atypical brand. It plays just the same as ever with the same choices of aircraft, missions and the popular rank structure to climb.
Unfortunately, something has gone wrong with the scaling of images and text. Although the game does fill the whole screen of my iPad, the text is tiny - like that on my iPhone - and the player names, messages, etc. are virtually unreadable. Worse than that, images like the target circle is also scaled down to iPhone size which makes it really hard to see what you’re aiming at. All this makes it quite a chore to play now and it has lost a lot of the appeal it once had. Hopefully this will be addressed in future updates as nothing else has changed, so it has the potential to be every bit the winner it was before.

Naff controls.
Having only tilt controls to adjust the planes direction is atrocious. Tilting might be a novelty for 5 minutes, but being able to focus on the action is almost impossible with the constant tilting forwards and backwards to go up or down. Further more the ability to do any kind of decent dogfighting is lost in the inaccurate tilt controls.
The game could be great, but controlling it is not fun, therefore the game is not fun.
