Mortgage Calculator Major Upgrade The Mortgage Calculator has been completely enhanced with new tools that give you the full financial picture before you make an offer. Down Payment Amount ($) slider is now linked directly to the Down Payment (%) slider. Moving either one updates both instantly. Example: at 20 percent on a 396000 dollar home the calculator shows 79200 dollars as the down payment. No more manual math needed. Extra Monthly Payment lets users enter additional principal payments and instantly see interest savings over the life of the loan and how many years are removed from the payoff timeline. Savings and time reduction are clearly highlighted. Loan Summary Card now shows total interest paid over the life of the loan, total cost of the loan including principal and interest, payoff date month and year, loan to value ratio, and PMI removal timing once 20 percent equity is reached.
