This release of Don Bluth’s legendary animated arcade game features video transferred directly from the stunning high definition master, delivering the sharpest images and most vibrant colours ever – even better than the original laserdisc release!

In Space Ace you play the heroic Ace who must stop the evil Commander Borf from taking over the Earth! Borf plans to reduce all of humankind to infants and take over the planet. Only two people have the courage and strength to stop Borf and save Earth: the beautiful Kimberly and the heroic Ace. But as they approach Borf’s stronghold, Ace is hit by the Infanto Ray, changing him into a child, and Kimberly is kidnapped by the evil madman! Armed with only a laser gun, Ace must find and destroy the Infanto Ray, rescue Kimberly and save the Earth!

The fate of Earth is in your hands!

Simply press on the direction pad to guide Ace in the right direction or fire your laser gun and blast those aliens away! It’s that simple!

Don Bluth Productions is the creative genius behind such beloved classics as “An American Tail”, “Secret of Nimh” and “Anastasia” to name but a few.

Damned near perfect!

Stumbled across this and nearly wet my britches with excitement. Having waited nearly 25yrs to recapture THE best arcade game of my youth, I have simply NOT been disappointed with this effort. It looks picture-perfect and has an easy mode (much reduced 'path' and movement guide) to get you back upto speed then on to the real deal. If I have 1 criticism, it is the d-pad for the moves. It often feels that the move is not registered until lifting your finger, but I have a suspicion that it's as much to do with where I'm pressing on the pad in all the excitement, than a fault. I hear dragons lair is on it's way so can't wait for that, but in the meantime, all the old feelings of "just one more go..." are there - only this time I don't have to feed the slot with coins!! Thank you so much. Now, if only the app store where to sort/search better, with such high ratings, this would be found by others not specifically searching in hope

Great game but very buggy

Game missing key cut scenes. The software designer hasn’t updated this game for a long time. It doesn’t play correctly, timings are out plus if you don’t energise normally you could play a simpler game, unfortunately this doesn’t work as game crashes & you die. The game I give 5 stars but the software developers for iPhone get 1 star. Very pour programming.

Arcade-perfect conversion. Classic, beautiful and INCREDIBLY frustrating.

I never thought I'd see the day when a Don Bluth laserdisc game could be ported to a mobile phone. This version of Space Ace brings back all the controls-punching, cabinet-hitting days of the past. It features the entire full-length game, together with attract sequence, and is transfered from the same picture master as the recent Blu-ray. It looks better than ever before, and has been converted from original 1.33:1 aspect ratio to fill the iPhone's entire screen.

As a conversion, this gets an easy five stars. As a game however, it gets three. It's just such a frustrating experience to try and 'play' this game, just as it was on the arcade version. You'll have to have nerves of steel to avoid throwing your iPhone at the nearest wall every time you hear Borf say "You cannot win"...!
