Starbeard is a roguelike romp that turns match 3 puzzles on their head, combining tactical tussles and community developed content, all with characters that’ll leave you starry eyed.
In this constellation matching, bug crunching adventure, players will explore beautiful levels and challenge beastly bosses.
The evil Gnomad wants to destroy the environment with his insatiable gluttony, whilst his pansy of a brother is out to get filthy rich. Despite this, players will spread gardens throughout the Galaxy with the colourful and crazy powers of the Starbeard Gnomes, and can also create a gnome of their own design!

Good addictive puzzler
Sounds simple enough when reading the description, but you soon discover that a bit of thinking is needed to place items where you get the most benefit. This then enables the power ups you need to destroy the pests and claim your rewards.
It doesn’t take too long before you have earned enough to unlock other characters and abilities and progress to more planets.
I’m still working my way through the game and progressing more slowly than some, but it’s a very nice relaxing experience with a bit of thinking.
Overall I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a game that you can play for a bit of a stretch or just for a few minutes when you have the time.
A great experience for casual and veteran gamers alike
A perfect game to download before a long flight or trainride. Starbeard is a very clever combination of matching games (like Candy Crush) and roguelike Turn Based Strategy (like Into The Breach). You can pick it up and instantly get hooked, but if you're looking for tactical depth and challenge it's here in spades. Beautiful graphics and sound plus top notch presentation make for a lovely and intuitive experience.
Strategy match-3 with a difference!
A great take on the matching genre - this had got nice visuals, a beautiful ambient soundtrack, and a charming setting of space gnomes trying to grow gardens! While the interaction takes a little time to learn, it's a lot of fun once you get into it, and very rewarding watch your bearded dudes unleash their powers on those pesky insects.
