Our taxi driver was amazing! He was very considerate when we needed to add an extra drop and he was happy to do it no problem, was an extremely lovely man!
Couldn’t pay by card but otherwise fine
Usually I’d use uber but as there is no uber in Cheltenham a friend sent me this app to try.
The app said I could request a taxi and it was 4 mins away, but when I did request it and then tracked the car, it changed to 9 mins away. It arrived promptly 9 mins later. We paid with cash.
On the way back home we decided to try the pay by card option on the app. I duly added my card details and we pre booked a cab for half an hours time so we would have time for an after dinner drink.
The taxi arrived 20 mins early and had been trying to call me, however my phone didn’t ring due to lack of signal.
We left 10 mins early to walk to the taxi. The taxi wasn’t in the right location and had parked down the road, so we had to walk to get it.
Arriving at our address the driver promptly asked for payment in cash. This was very confusing as I had selected pay by card and neither of us had cash.
The driver unfortunately couldn’t speak very good English and embarrassingly I couldn’t understand him, although I tried.
We agreed after a bit of discussion to go to a cash machine to take out money. The first one wasn’t working, so we had to drive somewhere else.
The second one was working.
The driver agreed not to charge more than the fixed rate quoted on the app. But I tipped him anyway as I felt bad about all the extra driving around.
This app is fine except if you try to pay by card. Cash seems to be the best option to save confusion.
App has no idea where you are
An app that can’t get your location correct resulting in extra charges to you. Won’t be using again.
First time I used and didn’t give me the option to put in my address, just assumed it knew where we were. Realised it had sent driver to estate nearby and then took 3 attempts to connect me to driver as I attempted to rectify its mistake. As I’d put in card details I was just charged extras without any notification and no way to comeback
