What is procedural generation ?
Core to Stellar Horizon is that its virtual galaxy, including the stars and planets, are all created through random procedural generation
using deterministic algorithms. A single seed number is used to create these features via mathematical computation thus eliminating
the need to create each of these features by hand.
This enables the game to have a massively open nature: it is estimated that with the 32-bit seed number, Stellar Horizon virtual
galaxy will include over 4 billion planets. Any player will be able to visit a specific planet once they know its galactic
coordinates, given their spacecraft has the capability to do so, and find the same features as any other player,
as these coordinates serve as the seed for the planet's topography and environment.

So much potential.
I’m really enjoying this. I’ve played now for 150 hours. It’s good fun exploring and expanding your ship. I have a few things to make it even better. The on planet exploration is a bit clunky, you often get stuck, can’t take off which is frustrating. The planetary navigation is difficult, you can only see three planets so it make it difficult trying to figure a trade route. I tend to move aimlessly. Asteroids should yield resources, as should pirates. Having said that, it’s a great Elite homage. A few tweaks and it could be a brilliant experience.
Has Potential
Just downloaded this as I'm an avid Elite Dangerous player.
Everything is impressive for an iOS game! However there are a few things that need mentioning...
1) The controls are disappointing. I was hoping to be able to tilt my iPhone in order to be able to roll and pitch my ship. Currently you can only use buttons. Also, you can only roll the ship during docking and I'd like to be able to do it all the time. I prefer Elite's control system to Star Citizen and this is more like Star Citizen at the moment 😞
2) I'd like to be able to adjust the speed level during normal flight as opposed to it being fixed.
3) The graphics of the stations and other objects needs improving. Everything else looks beautiful!
4) I can't figure out how to lock with and fly down to planets.
5) The sound needs revamping, especially the engines!
Apart from that, well done! A fantastic effort for iOS and something I can only see improving with time! 😀👍🏻
Great game for Elite Fans and great App support
I never write reviews but I really wanted to write this one. If, like me, you have a craving for Elite style games, then this is definitely worth a try. It has some really impressive features and a universe crammed in to the game.
It gets updates and I even emailed Sylvain as I was stuck on the Navigation part and had a reply in 5 minutes.
Great work and something to play when I’m not on PC
