Sykes: Book Holiday Cottages 4+

Hi, I have previously emailed few weeks ago saying can you add a filter for couples (not heard anything back) I have booked and used Sykes for years. I would like to be able to find holidays for couples, I have trawled through this web site for hours trying to find my ideal holiday cottage where both couples have the same thing ie double bed, en-suite etc, we usually club together so it would be fair to be able to have similar type of rooms, I usually book a cottage that sleeps 6 or more to get that. But it does surprise me that when you see a cottage and view it you see a nice big bedroom and the bedrooms only have singles/twins and not the option for zip linked. I have tried the usual filters for bedrooms and bathrooms but there are a lot of places that are missed off, I must admit it does start to put me off from looking as after a while I cannot find what I want (as I have got bored and the fun has wained) and hence the filter, I have no idea how you would go about to do this but I do feel having this will enhance the enjoyment of finding your perfect holiday. I have had some amazing holidays with your site and would love to continue using you. If you can see if this is a possibility that would be great, thank you.

The Crest is a great cottage with every comfort imaginable. Marisa is a wonderful host with nothing too much trouble ! She’s very friendly and quickly made us feel we could ask her anything - and we did! The high standard is a given with Sykes cottages, but this surpassed all our expectations for position, comfort and space! Only two of us in a cottage for four, so we had plenty of room. Each room is beautifully appointed with comfortable beds and sofas. Having a little coffee making place upstairs in the sitting room is a great touch as the kitchen is downstairs!
Being in Helston put us in a great position for visiting this part of Cornwall. If only the weather had delivered it would have been perfect! As someone else’s review said, don’t hesitate, just book The Crest; you won’t be disappointed!

We recently booked a 1 week stay at a cottage in Wales. Up to the point of paying the full balance, Sykes Cottages never said anything about the times for check in/out. The booking simply stated ‘Friday to Friday’. Once the balance was paid, they have the cruel audacity to then say that the booking commences from 5pm on the arrival day and check out is 9am on the departure date! This means that we lose almost a full day off the booking that we have paid for and cannot change. We also have to get 2 young kids up, packed, fed and out of the door by 9 am before driving several hours to get home. We also lose the first day as a 5pm check-in means that it will be at least 2-3 hours before we are full unpacked and fed. At that point, it is bedtime for the kids. The first day over already!!!

This is truly shocking behaviour by this company who have cheated us out of a day’s holiday and put us under greater pressure on both the arrival and departure day with 2 young kids. You could have mentioned this crucial bit of information before taking the deposit!! Even hotels don’t force guests to check-in as late as 5pm.

Please don’t respond using covid as the excuse as it does not take 8 hours to clean a small house. This is absolute deception and theft.
