Taxi First 4+

Plymouth taxis have been a nightmare when calling up and having to wait hours. This app is insane. Downloaded it. Pressed we want a taxi - turned up in three minutes. This app will be over used now!

I pre booked a taxi via the app at 10:00am so it would be ready for 3:03pm when I finished work. The taxi was confirmed and my ride had been scheduled. Once work finished that day I stood outside waiting for my taxi.
That wait lasted 15 minutes until I finally got a notification saying my ride had been cancelled and I could see the taxi driver was driving around somewhere else in plymouth. I rang the company and I was told that there were no taxi’s available and that I should have pre booked! Of course I explained that I did and he said sorry the driver must have found a better fare. This is not right!
My dad used to run a taxi firm and recommended this firm to me as his absolute favourite for reliability and friendless. Without a taxi that day I walked 6 miles home which took me two hours.

Useful, however does have glitches especially during payment. Payment always fails if I select Apple Pay and then it blocks me from booking a taxi for one minute. The option to pay by card is also rather cumbersome, and can time out which leaves me in the same position of being blocked from booking a taxi for one minute.

I assumed this glitch would go away after a few weeks but it’s now been several months and it seems like it’s now here to stay.

If the payment fails for other reasons, for example, poor signal etc, it blocks you for a minute as well. This is incredibly frustrating as it never used to do it before. Sometimes I just want to get home as soon as possible after a long night shift without being blocked and having to wait to try booking again. Just seems like a very unnecessary feature.

Also, there have been a few occasions where I have pre-booked a taxi and nobody has turned up at all, which has landed me in difficulty.
