Disappointing service and so many substituted items

I love Tesco and the app is great, But I was so disappointed with my last 2 orders that I decided to not order from them again! I was expecting the delivery between 17:00-18:00 and no one has arrived. No one tried to call me or ring the doorbell. After waiting for another hour, I have received an email from them saying that they couldn’t reach me. I then called the given number to find out what happened to my order. I was at home all day and I haven't had any missed calls as they claimed. When I called the number, I have been told that they didn't have enough time for my order and they had to return to the store. I was told that I will get a call back on the same day to rearrange the delivery time and date but they never called back so I had to call back the next day to find out what's happening with my order. I have managed to speak to someone the next day and they said that they will refund me the money but I will have to place the order again. Bear in mind that I have been waiting for this order for 2 weeks and I had to wait longer now to receive my grocery shopping. I have finally made another order, which it has been delivered but the delivery man didn't have a receipt for some reason and I wasn't able to check what items have been substituted. After going through my stuff, sooooo many items were missing and many more have been substituted. I have emailed them to complain but the whole situation was so annoying and disappointing.

Yes I’ve had the app for ages😊But had no reason to shop with it I used to have a look what you had then went and did my shopping... But when the coronavirus came around February/March I’ve been shopping on your net as I’m classed as a priority with all the things I have going on with me but I don’t place an order until I need too as I’ve noticed when I first started you couldn’t get a slot for weeks sometimes a month and which I think is unfair to some people who have a large family as I’m only shopping for one now but I’ve always done the shopping even when I worked as I worked on nights and that left me and my partner free on the weekends.. but like all families do when they are older they leave the nest as they say and start their own family but sadly I lost my partner of 55yrs in April just gone she died with pneumonia. But I still do the shopping for two so then it gives the others a chance to get their shopping..... but I’d never done it before and I’m thinking of keeping it up as my normal thing now so that leaves me free to visit my children and grandchildren also my great grandchildren as when the lockdown ends and with God's blessings the vaccine works well I’ve done enough talking you only wanted to know if the new was okay 😃well yes it is and if you have taken the time to read this (chapter as long as writing a book) then bless you for showing you DO CARE and I wish each and everyone of you the very best of wishes for you and your families I do hope that you can have a good time this Xmas also let’s all pray that 2021 will be a good year for every worldwide 🇬🇧💜❤️

The Tesco groceries app is the reason why I have stuck with them as my preferred online grocery shop. It’s most useful feature is that for each item you can specify whether you are ok with it being substituted or not, and in addition you can add a note about what you are willing to accept or not in exchange. However, you have to keep clicking ‘apply’ for each one, and if you forget then the instruction doesn’t get saved.It stores your favourites and previous grocery list which is also useful, as it makes inputting a new one a lot quicker. You can also add items later even after checkout which is very useful. However, you can’t remove items, which is a bit annoying.There is room for improvement though. The search feature is not the best, it can bring up some random items. Also, it is very difficult to change your saved contact details , especially phone number. My landline has changed since the first time I registered and I have tried so many times to change it, but it keeps treating it as if the address has changed and asking for the new address! Also if an item is not available, and no substitute could be provided, I think the customer should be informed in advance , say by text, so that they can make some other arrangement to get that item if necessary. For example, two bread items were not available and I only found out when the delivery guy came to my door, so I ended up with no bread for that night and next morning and it was too late at night for me to go and get some. Had I known earlier, I would have gone and got that one item from a local shop or requested a different item instead. There should be some way of doing so- either by text or email or by phone call.
In-Store Shopping List Bug Fix Required

After using the Tesco app for online-orders over the last five years i can say it’s a very good app in this respect, however I recently started shopping In store again and as the app has a feature for an in-store list it seemed a no brainier to use it as it seemed quite useful to see product isle numbers as well as letting you check items off the list, however there are some terrible bugs and awful ease of use / efficiency limitations to it: 1) if using Tesco app with the same account across multiple devices (me and my wife share the account) the list does not sync correctly about 98% of the time and items disappear. 2) you can not use favourite items to populate it, this is a major flaw as it takes ages to then type the products in and search for them. 3) if a product goes out of stock it will disappear from the shopping list rather than display an out of stock warning. As a long time customer I think if these issues can be fixed and the user experience of the in-store list enhanced it would be a real game changer! For now its just a bit of an after thought gimmick that can’t be used practically as it is completely unreliable. Please fix the above issues and it will help to not loose any sales of all the items that drop off the list and also make sure us customers will missing critical ingredients for our dinner!
