Easier To Redeem Points on Phone

I went on line to redeem my points and had the opportunity to use the App. Not being a youngster I thought why not as I now do other things on my phone. To my delight it didn’t take long once the App was downloaded as I was already registered and it asked me to log in.

I do have a key fog which is swiped to add on the points when I fill up so I will be able to use that to redeem them also. All done in a few minutes. I am very pleased.

A disaster

Having set up my new account in the app I went to the Texaco garage and tried to access the app. It had reset all the data back to zero and no matter what I did it would not log in. Fortunately, I remembered the card in the Apple wallet so was able to claim my points. However, on managing, eventually, to get back into the app it has now forgotten my card details and I need to link it again. So, as requested, I put in the card number only to be told it was invalid. I can assure you I checked it three times and it was the number on my card but it refuses to accept it. So, I’m stuck in Limbo. I can keep collecting points with the card shown in the wallet but I can’t access them as the app won’t let me link the card. Great stuff!

Can't comment on app, but can comment on staff

Sorry for one star, but that's because Apple Store don't allow zero stars review. I can't comment on the app as I have downloaded it, but not yet used it, because of log in problems, so I don't know what I think of the app. I'll have to wait until I've managed to log in, use the app, then see how I feel about it, and change the rating.

But I can comment on the staff working for Star Rewards department. They're slow. Some years ago, I tried to log on to their website to redeem some points for fuel, but had log on problems. By the time it was sorted out, it was too late, I had to dig into my savings and used it for fuel, leaving me with not much to enjoy my holiday.

I figure to give this app a go, I thought it's supposed to be quicker than redeeming through their website, that's why I downloaded, but yet again, log on problems, emailed the staff, and still waiting for them to help me out. Their support services is slow.

If their staff don't help me out before Friday, I'm going to stop using Texaco, and start using other companies' petrol stations.
