Ratings and Reviews
GREAT PORT!!! Huge problems.
Great port to mobile in general.... but....
1. Some of the controls are trash.
Why do the thumbsticks move around the screen? The bomb button is placed just in a spot where you can accidentally bomb yourself or accidentally use a bomb. But since Nicalis doesn’t really update mobile ports much, in case they do, add a customizable GUI.
2. where the hell the updates at
ok so Nicalis don’t update mobile game ports much. But it’s been 4 years since the last update as of Fri 28th Of May. Add in Afterbirth, even just the + version too. I’d honestly just be happy with a small bug fix or something.
3. seriously, update the game
bruh
4. maybe make the game slightly easier
I know it’s a port and is meant to have exactly the same game mechanics as the PC port, and Isaac is extremely hard, but do you really expect us to do a The Lost run, do a mega satan fight? with bad controls? most new games with a mobile port have a slight tweak, in which mobile players get a slight advantage, e.g auto shoot in fps, better hitboxes etc. In my opinion for the slight advantage, I’d just want a slight buff to all characters (adding better base stats) or a better items luck.
In conclusion, great port, great game, buy it if you WANT to play rebirth endlessly, with its issues, and bad controls. But, it is fun on the side when you get good runs, similar to all rogue likes. I’d recommend buying it, but then move onto PC version if ur just a mobile player.
Disturbing, brilliant and compelling.
Okay, to start with, this game is beyond strange. From the art design to the collectibles to the very idea of the game itself. It is way out there. But and yet despite this or maybe because of this the game stands out. It has that ‘one more go’ element by the ton and no run is like the last. There is so much to collect and ways to power your ‘Isaac’ (or whichever character you use after unlocking) and the upgrades are so bizarre that they add loads to the replay value. Once you get your head around the art design it is a joy. The animations are great and the variety of room and level design are varied. The game is tricky too...unforgiving at times but the range of ways you can power-up your character helps a lot. The controls are a wee bit slippy for my liking but bear with it...I normally detest loose controls but you do get used to it here and oddly it adds to the experience. Great music and sfx too. Oh, and the price. £15 for an app is way pricey...I read many reviews and watched lots of videos before buying and I’ll say it is worth it. The debate around app pricing will rage for ever but here you get the full game. No adds. No in app purchasing. A full experience of the game that you get on console. So all in all a great game. You really have to play or experience it yourself to ‘get it’ and it won’t be to everyone’s taste. I love it. It enters your brain and doesn’t relinquish its grip. Get it in your life.
Good game, could use some improvements
I'm a huge fan of the binding of Isaac, and I've played this port a LOT. (Completely full cleared the game on one save file) The controls of this port are really difficult to deal with compared to playing with a keyboard, which makes the game rather frustrating sometimes. The game itself is great, but if they could optimise the controls it would be great. Also, whilst it is unlikely to happen, I would like the game to receive the DLC, or at least afterbirth, because they add so much to the gameplay.
