The Crossword and Anagram Solver helps you when you get stuck on a crossword:
• Enter the letters you already know, and the blank squares you don't, and let the app do the rest
• Solve anagrams
• Shuffle anagram letters manually, to give you a hint without handing you the answer immediately
• Look up words in the thesaurus, and get lists of synonyms
• Get definitions of words (built-in, or using DuckDuckGo's online dictionary)
Basic crossword solving is always free. The advanced features require a paid upgrade (after a free trial to try them out).

I've fixed a problem that caused the app to be very slow for a few users.

Proper names!
This is superior to the expensive gizmo I have previously used as it gives proper names and place names that take a capital letter. I too would like to be able to put spaces between words especially when doing anagrams. Would a built in Thesaurus be too much to ask for, or is it there and I haven't found it? Didn't find out how to get definitions immediately but that came from just diving in and using it....
all in all terrific value and I love it 🤗
Almost a good product
It will provide a list of words that match the known letters and spaces entered but frequently will return an error message of no entry found when you click on a suggested word. You can go back a step and pick look up on the internet but if it’s just told you a word, why isn’t there an entry to match it?
Features I like are that you can can enter all the known Letters of a string of words ignoring the spaces and it will find the best match and also that you type a space for the unknown letters, which I think is logical.

My app includes the UKACD word list to search for words, which has lots of obscure words that crossword setters like! But it doesn’t include definitions, so when you tap to look up a definition it activates iOS’s built in dictionary. Unfortunately that only has common words, not the more obscure words.
I’m working on an update to include definitions in the app itself. The new dictionary I’m using still has omissions, but it will enable me to check in advance if a definition is missing, and automatically redirect you to the internet if that happens, meaning it will be a one-step process.
Hopefully the new update will be ready in the next few weeks.

This is a great app for anyone who needs a bit of help with crosswords and other word puzzles. It’s easy to use and the latest update has improved its functionality hugely (at a very affordable price). In my view £2.49 is a price well worth paying to have no ads and give a developer who has put time and effort in this product some reward. I have no hesitation recommending this app.
