Description

Times Tables form a key educational requirement; learn them when you are young and you’ll never forget them. Times Tables Personal Assistant has been developed to help children of all ages build confidence with their knowledge of Times Tables. The tables 1 to 12 are included and you can select one table to learn at a time or any number of tables to test your knowledge.

Times Tables is another product from the Unit11 ‘Maths can be fun series’. In that series, Shopkeeper+ (adding) reached #6 in the UK charts and ‘Day with a Difference’ (differences) is prominent in the world-wide Apps for Kids ‘Fun learning’ section. The App supports multiple individual users and retains each individual’s preferences/settings enabling a number of children in one family to use the same App.

Designed for iPhone and iPad. This app is fully compatible with iOS 11.

Spoken Tables. When learning the tables, you can select the table’s format (1 x 3 = or 3 x 1 =) and you can choose from 3 different voice overs including a rhythmic voice over more suited to learning quickly.

Practising Your Knowledge. Choose one or more tables and then select from 6 different game modes (Grid, Multiple Choice, Drag & Drop, Keyboard 1, Keyboard 2 and Matching Pairs). Or simply choose random to experience several methods at random. You can adjust the user settings to set the length of each game from 3 to 10 questions. For example, this enables the grid (which takes longer) to be set to a low number of repetitions whilst ‘multiple choice’ (which is quite quick) could be set to have a much higher number of repetitions.

Testing Your Knowledge. Choose from 4 levels of testing for each table (Merit, Bronze, Silver and Gold) and try to earn the medal. The test menu uses coloured buttons to show attainment level, try to earn them all!

Timer. Try to beat your best time for completing the test for each table. The timer is optional.

Multiplayer. There is a turn based 2 player test mode included. This fun element can be used for children to test themselves against friends, brothers and sisters or even mum and dad! To keep things fair there are no time limits and each player can select different tables for the test. So whilst Johnny or Tina do the 10 Times Table, mum or dad could do the 7, 8 and 9: try it, Maths can be fun for families too.

Very good app

Very good app, gives confidence and my 8 year old likes the rewards system. A couple of areas for improvement thought-- I realise it's all in the title "times tables" but there should really be a division section too for when kids are ready for that next stage, as well as word problems ("3 kids each have 5p, how much have they got all together?") to put the learning into context. Lastly, there is a bug that keeps saying that 11x2=22 is wrong?! Driving my daughter crazy as it means she can't get her gold level in the 2s table!

Best Times Table App by far!

I've been through a lot of Apps and been so disappointed, but this one is certainly doing the trick. It follows exactly what is expected from the British Curriculum, and is great for my son who has trouble with short term/ visual memory. The colourful graphics and multiple learning options really help to gets the numbers fixed into the long term memory, which is perfect for any child, but especially a dyslexic.
A real bonus would be to add an option to create custom colourful flash cards for those sums that kids find tricky, although there is no harm in repeating sums those already learnt.

Best Times Tables app

I downloaded (and paid for a few) 21 different times tables apps, compared them all and put the best ones on my kids iPads. I think this one is the most complete.
Some apps are just tests, but this has a way to learn and then practise.

If I could add anything, it would be a structured plan (i.e do 1, 10, 2 then 5...) and something a bit more fun to collect but this is great
