Would Be Better If You Could Download A Trial Version First

I wanted to download a trial version to see if I liked this. It’s improtant that you can see whether you like productivity software like this - it is designed to be software you use everyday, afterall, so it needs to be easy to navigate, populate with data and process.

If you visit Appigo’s website there’s no information about the Mac App store version - all the info is geared towads the iPhone and iPad app. The screenshots on this Mac App Store are not big enough to be able to see how the app operates, so the only way to see if the product is right for you is to buy it and download it.

There’s little guidance on how to use the software (although the website gives you videos on using the iOS app version). I felt the way to set due dates and notes was quick cumbersome, requiring several mouseclicks. i couldn’t determine how to do this using keyboard short cuts. I didn’t like it - I appreicate this is a subjective view, but I do think the important point here is that there’s no way of trialing the software or of finding out how to use the product without buying it first. I’ve asked for a refund. If you’re used to using Todo apps on your iOS devices I’m sure you’ll get on fine with this app, but if you’re coming to Todo for the first time, I’d avoid buying the Mac App version first.

Good app, but hasn’t really changed in 2 years

It’s a reasonably good to do app - easy to use.
However, Toodledo sync stopped working in this version. Support responded quickly and gave me the previous version, but sadly I can’t change alarms on this version.
It does seem to have become more unstable in recent times. Probably because all of the development effort is going on Appigo’s own cloud version.
I think after two years it may be time for me to seek an alternative.

Bye!

This was the best ToDo app I’ve tried and the one I’ve relied on for several years, syncing between, my iMac, MBP, iPhone and iPad. I would have given it five stars except for the periodic sync glitches introduced with updates (so it had four).

Unfortunately, dropping support for sync via Dropbox has killed it for me. I've tried the option to sync via iCloud: it worked but not as smoothly as it did with Dropbox and I’ve no confidence that Appigo will not turn that off in due course.

I switched to Appigo's own cloud sync service but, once the Premium trial ended, syncing stopped. I’m told it’s still possible to sync if you use the ToDo Cloud app for iOS (the same access for MacOS is in the pipeline) but, on trying that, I’ve found that I’ve lost use of the Focus list (it’s a smart list that sat at the heart of my workflowand and needs a paid subscription). Appigo generously gives you the Everything smart list but that isn’t quite as useful. If you just want a simple app (and one list that lets you focus on what is critical or becoming due) then it’s probably OTT. I don’t think the annual subscription is worth it for what I need (especially as I’d previouly paid for both the MacOS and iOS apps). With a little bit of thought, I reckon the Apple Calendar will do what I need nowadays (with Apple’s own Notes and Reminders filling any gaps). So I’ve now transferred the lists and deleted all ToDo apps from all my platforms and bye-bye ToDo.

However, I’ll close by saying that, if you want all the bells and whistles of shared lists, notifications, use of Siri, etc. then it’s probably as good as any todo app available - so I’ve compromised at three stars...
