Be aware of the automatic subscription
Just a quick warning about payment:
I purchased this app for just over £3 - believing it would be a one off payment as I didn’t agree to any subscriptions. Even if I had, I would have expected it to be a similar payment as the initial one I had made. However, the payment shot up to over £10 a month, which I had not agreed to, and I could not cancel on my app’s account, I had to go through my PayPal account. Just a warning for you all.
The product itself is okay, but I don’t appreciate hidden costs appearing, especially from a company that is supposed to protect you from phishing software that steals your details etc.
Rip off and underhanded company
This app costs over £3 to buy. It appears in iTunes as a free app, so there is no receipt. It doesn’t mention anything regarding a rolling subscription until after it takes £9.59 out of your account, saying you have to turn rolling subscriptions off 24 hours before the account is payable. The app doesn’t appear in your iTunes subscriptions so you cannot cancel your account. Upon contacting the company to explain the situation, I cannot get a proper response from them, only trying to push me into subscribing further and paying them more money.
The whole pricing system is deceiving and designed to make it so you do not fully understand what you have signed up to. Then they make it near impossible to cancel your account, with any chance of a refund not even acknowledged.
A very underhanded company, they don’t deserve your custom, regardless of how the product does or does not work.
Disgusting pressure sales!!!
After initially buying this, it became apparent that the initial price is a very watered down version of the software. To gain more features, you have to pay extra. Not only as one sum, but several sums of money as they slowly reveal the extra features. The recurring monthly fee is much higher than what they advertise.
Then when you email to cancel. They don’t cancel straight away. They email with and enhanced package. To which you need to reply to, then you need to log in and ‘fill out a form’ to cancel. Whilst I was filling in the form, AV pop up ads kept flashing with an offer of stay with us for £1 a month!! It continuously interrupted the form I was filling in! Got there in the end!!
AV just be honest, one upfront payment, genuine cancellation policy and no Bull and you will start to look like a professional organisation as opposed to a bunch of cowboys!!
