Vector Q by Imaengine 4+

Probably brilliant

I wanted to fall in love with this rather than expensive vector drawing platforms - but it is not as intuitive as others & the help is poor or non existent, could not find many tutorials on line either so I have needed up paying for a slicker program - however I hope to come back to this before having to renew in the home it has been polished

It's surprisingly brilliant

At first glance, you could be forgiven for thinking of this app as just another typical ’vectorisation’ app or ’photo-to-drawing convertor.’ But, in actual fact, it's the best free app I've ever had but what makes it so brilliant isn’t instantly obvious. I don't use this app for transferring photographs into drawings (although, that is possible to do if that's your jam.) I'm a prolific illustrator and I adore this app because it allows me to explore the creative scope of an illustration as I'm creating it. I can use a first draft illustration I made in Adobe and then use ’imaengine’ to vectorise it into a spectrum of different colours and styles. This allows me to instantly test a variety of different aesthetic styles that I can then creatively modify further using the handy edit and layering tool. When I'm finished I can save the work as transferable hi-res (up to 8000 pixels) format, (jpg, pdf, png, svg.) Really outstanding, creativity apps are few and far between and I only use the best available because I'm illustrating on my iPad every day. ’Imaengine’ became my most unexpected favourite, closely followed by the Adobe apps, Superimposed and Vintage Logo Maker

Still Angry

I’ve finally found my original review that I posted a few days ago. In it, I explained how frustrated I have been since the app updated and changed its name from Imaengine to Vector Q and in doing so, over complicated an easy to use format, as well as messing up my two favourite filters in “Triangles”.
They’ve also added a feature that on first inspection opens up your creativity by including set colour palettes, but after a small foray, you realise that it’s actually limiting your ideas as one cannot modify the set palettes.
Me personally, all I want is the original format that was intuitive to use and produced fantastic results and crucially, let me use the colour black as the background colour to my renderings instead of white.
While reading other users recent reviews after the update, I have noticed that the app developer hasn’t responded to one review - good or bad, since it came to market. This is why I have changed my rating from 4 to 1 star in order to reflect the poor customer service on offer.
I fear that I will have to find a new application knowing that this one has fallen out of favour with its regular users.

Palettes can be added and modified, randomly generated and more. Please enable 'Advanced UI', in settings main view top-left, this add a button in vectorizer to switch between 'smart UI' and 'advanced UI'.
