This is the FREE version of the most popular vessel tracking app, providing real-time data on the positions and movements of vessels, utilizing a large network of terrestrial AIS receivers and satellites. VesselFinder Lite aims to reveal the comprehensive picture of the global AIS coverage.
VesselFinder Lite features include:

The visibility of vessels in this application depends on AIS signal availability. If a particular vessel is out of our AIS coverage zone, VesselFinder displays her last reported position and updates it as soon as the vessel comes into range. The completeness and accuracy of the information provided cannot be guaranteed.

Need some more development.
VesselFinder Lite does all the basics, very well. However it does fall short with the clunky UI, especially the search function where it lacks live results. Dots to show what picture you are on go off the edge of the screen. Not to mention the weird way, after you have looked at the past activity of a vessel on the map and clicked away, the course still appears!

Has not updated our position for over 2 days?
When it works it is great but it seems a bit hit and miss. According to VesselFinder I am off of Ibiza but I’m actually in Mallorca. Not much help when you have people watching your progress and worrying. Marine Traffic knows where we are as do all the boats around us as our AIS is fine. Ok I am using free version but if they can not make this work properly then I will not part with money to discover if other versions work or not. Hope you can fix this but it has happened all to often over past 3 years so I have given up :(
Disappointed
Data frozen, screen not refreshing despite closing app and restarting. A vessel I was tracking showed as being in one spot for over two hours!! Still showing the same place when the boat was back in its boathouse !!
