Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus 12+

Been playing 6mo, got to 260k power. Spent around £60 so far, which is mainly the monthly battle pass and a Blackstone chest (gems) which gives me a 30 day feed of gems. You can obviously whale and spend £££ to progress fast but its not needed at all. If you spend only £5 on this game, let it be the Yarrick offer you get at the start. He is extremely good and you cant unlock him easily otherwise. Community is ok, Snowprint discord is a good resource and Devs interact with players constantly on there. Ive been stung by mobile game devs before, spent loads on the game only for huge power creep and p2w elements to take over - so far, Tacticus is not that. It rewards daily play and regular updates improve the game. The only gripe i have is that bugs have been exploited by some and they havent been punished which is annoying. Devs are a bit slow to patch bugs tbh. 9/10

Edit: 10mo in and still playing. Ive ramped up my spend considerably as I am enjoying the gameplay loop and have joined a top guild. We have our own discord now and are working hard to climb the leaderboard. I even have my wife playing on her phone now.

I’m loving this 40k game ! It’s the best mobile 40k game to date but it’s not without its flaws and most of them I can overlook and get over but I just can’t understand why there’s an 11hr wait between battles on most game modes .. it’s baffling to me the game clearly wants to be played and yet it’s almost impossible to keep your attention over the course of the day as the only thing you can play consistently is the campaign.. and arena but that’s timed also … and I assumed when I started that the clock reseats at midnight and you get all your attempts back but it’s 11hrs sometimes to be able to battle 1 time and then an 11hr wait again ! It’s a beautifully made game with awesome lore and characters from the table top and black library in there but held back massively by the sheer amount of time you have to wait to be able to play more of the games alternative modes

There are people who are happy to be fleeced to collect pixels. Does not matter if there is any gameplay, does not matter if there is any story. The only thing that really matters is how much of your wallet you are willing to give away to exist somewhere in the meta verse. This game is right for this kind of people. It offers more monetisation than game play options. It is pay to win at every level, even when it claims not to be like in its tournament. Yes, if you don’t get it, there are those with legendary Celestine and the others. If you are a real fan of Warhammer, you might want to walk away and leave this empty shell to the wallet warriors. The most amazing thing about this game is that The devs are incapable of providing a cross platform app, but they spend hell a lot of energy in scavenging Warhammer art and serve slices of it in all shape and form of micro transactions. You won’t play much, but you will pay ad noseam.
2 stars for the graphics, that is the only thing worth talking about in this pile of garbage.
