Room for improvement

Overall I find the app does what it says on the tin - create lists, experiment with load-outs (assuming you both subscribe annually and buy the individual codices you’re interested in). There are some obvious QoL enhancements which haven’t been made, though. Why can’t you duplicate a list (assuming you have a subscription and consequently the ability to store more than one)? Oftentimes if you’re experimenting and theorycrafting lists, you don’t want to start from scratch every time, but instead tweak the edges around a solid core - and it’s unnecessarily frustrating to have to re-enter everything every time. Similarly, there should be a highlighting interface for units you still have the points to include. Little things like that would go a long way to improving things.

Fantastic app, spoilt by greed.

After failed attempts at launching an app in previous editions, this 10e one hit the mark when the edition came out. Easy to use, clear, rules easy to find and above all, free. However then GW announced after a trial period, the free side would go away. Initially I was OK with this, the thought was this would be tied in with the warhammer+ subscription and we could carry on as normal. I would have been OK with that and I suspect most people would be as it would have been a fair deal. But then GW ruined it by implementing that PLUS needing to buy codexes to unlock the content. This was the mistake they made in 9e and apparently they have not learned from it. A subscription plus buying a codex is double dipping and greedy. Codexes are increasingly not worth the money because they go out of date very quickly with the rules changes. In fact the tyranids codex went out of date before it even released! GW need to rethink their codex model, because they are just not relevant anymore. My suggestion would be to tie rules to the subscription on this app, because that’s fair, and change codexes to be a collectors item, more focused on lore, art, model showcase and painting tips. There is no point buying a physical rule book anymore with rules that go out of date. The app serves that need so much better but needs a different pricing structure.

An amazing app but…

I love this app and i have recommend this to all my friends so we can exchange lists from armies we have never looked at before. It’s simple but still informative and the battle forge is insanely good at making army building go from a struggle to understanding what can have what and getting that good old calculator out, to guiding you and doing the maths for you. Now, i would give it a 5* but i have some suggestions so it can't be 5*.
* The battle forge becomes difficult to read after too many lists, so can there be a filter (all incursion battles or all Tau lists) and/or have subheadings for each faction as it is only sorted alphabetically and army lists go everywhere
* Not a big issue but the max game size you have is onslaught and units like warlord titans are 3.5k so they can never be used. When selecting a battle size can you make your own size like 500, 2500 or 4000 and add to the rules like teleport strike (Grey Knights) to say that “after onslaught battles, you can select an additional unit for every 1k points rounded up (3,500p = an additional unit). That's only for big games but it would be cool to add it.

That's all, thank you for making this app and enjoy you day.
