EV Route Planner and Charging Assistant

WattsUp is the app that you’ve been waiting for and a revolution in how rapid charging options are presented to electric vehicle (EV) drivers.

Enjoy the ability to easily view a chosen route knowing that the information is comprehensive, up to date and includes all major network operators.

WattsUp will show you all of the rapid chargers on your journey. Regardless of network operator, if it has the connector you need, you’ll see it. Missed the announcement of a new charger? Don’t worry, it will be there.

We’ll automatically show you actual driving distances to chargers whilst en route. Choose a charger but see all of the alternatives using our intuitive status bar.

Be forewarned if a charger isn’t working and choose an alternative *before* you arrive. WattsUp will show you the live operational status of a charging location (when available).

We think you’ll be excited by how WattsUp works. However, we want to continue improving and updating the app. If you have feedback for us, please get in touch!

WattsUp - Inspiring range confidence.

Note: We are working with UK, Ireland and New Zealand network operators to introduce live status features.

I don’t move on the map

This app is great that it shows the chargers on up to 3 routes. I using an iPhone 6 and when I say start journey it shows my current position but I don’t move on the map as I travel so the counters don’t change at the bottom of the screen. I’ve tried deleting the app and reloading it and I have checked that gps is enabled for the app but still my position does not move unless I close the app and start again.!

Charger availability!

It’s a crowded app market with zap and PlugShare.
This does something they don’t - it provides details of chargers but specifically if they are available!
This is similar to how Tesla in car navigation to Superchargers work.
It’s not as easy to use as google maps or abetterrouteplanner for route choice.
However, the usual apps don’t give you any info about charger availability, they just say where they are and this app may save you going to one that is already occupied. I’m not sure how this is done by the app - it seems really clever! You can get the availability info from the CYC website, but this makes it much simpler to see several at the same time, in an area you are heading along or heading to.

Does not have my car

I downloaded then went to setup picked Nissan LEAF then it only went as high as 30kw. My new car which arrives in Feb will have the new 40kw batter, so will try it out when the app includes my car, looks like it could be what I need then. So for now I just deleted it. I can’t really rate this until I can actually use it, so to be fair I took one star only as it doesn’t have my car but it looks like it will be fine!

Developer Response ,

Hi there Marak_48, you can update/reload the car database from the Settings (Cog wheel) option — it should have the 40kWh LEAF there. Hope you enjoy your new car when it comes!
