Werdsmith turns your iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch into a powerful writing studio that inspires you to write. With features to motivate you and help you break through writer‘s block, you‘ll find yourself writing more than ever.

1. Capture your ideas
Whenever inspiration strikes, Werdsmith makes it easy to quickly capture it before it gets lost. Staring at a blank page? The app can suggest different ways to start your story.
2. Start your project
When you‘re ready to get started, Werdsmith will take care of all the busywork so that you can focus on writing. The app automatically formats your chapters, remembers and suggests your character names and if you’ve got writers block, can even learn your writing style and write the next line of your story for you.
3. Create a writing ritual
Creating a habit of daily writing is a crucial step to becoming a successful writer. Werdsmith helps you choose a time of day that works for you, and will remind you to write.
4. Set a goal
Add a word goal to your project, and we'll show you your progress as you write. We‘ll even show you how many words you've written and how long you've spent writing, and you can track your daily stats in one of our widgets or from the Apple Watch app.
5. Get feedback and publish
When your draft is finished, you can share it privately with your editors, publish it to your readers, or export it to 1000s of other apps or your computer for printing or editing.
All your projects stay up to date between iPhone, iPad and Mac, automatically backed up and protected. Werdsmith can fit into your existing writing process, or you can treat it like a fresh start. It's up to you.

Things you might want to know:
Werdsmith supports iOS devices on iOS 14+ and Macs with an M1 processor or newer.
You can use all of Werdsmith's features for free, but there are limits, for example in the number of projects you can add, the number of writing prompts you can create, or the amount of time you can spend in Novel Mode or using app themes. You can increase or remove these limits by becoming a Werdsmith member. Sync, backup and sharing features are optional, but require a free Werdsmith account.
If you choose to become a member, you’ll be charged through your iTunes account at the end of your one-week free trial period, unless you cancel your membership at least 24 hours before it begins. Your subscription will renew automatically, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage, upgrade, downgrade or cancel your subscription in the app's Settings or by going to your App Store account settings. Keep in mind that any unused portion of your free trial period is forfeited if you purchase a membership before the end of the trial. A great writing app marred by subscription payment model
I love Werdsmith. It makes writing such a seamless easy process, which maximises the potential for creativity. The GUI looks good, it makes your words seem polished a nicely presented. I never thought I’d write a novel on my phone, but that is what I’m doing, and the ideas are just flowing out like never before; obviously there are other reasons for this, but the app and the phone effectively minimise all barriers, despite the fact I can’t touch type on the phone. The only negative, and hence 4, rather than 5 stars is the subscription payment model. I don’t think app software justifies this and the annual subscription price would seem high as a one off payment. Still the free aspect of the app is just great, and for anyone happy to pay subscriptions for apps this is a sterling 5 star app, without question.
Edit: Well I did end up subscribing and I have increased the rating to 5 stars accordingly. I still think subscription is pricey but it has certainly enabled my writing to a great extent. I particularly like the seamless transition between the phone version and the laptop version.

I first discovered Werdsmith years and years ago , back on the old GUI.
Safe to say this app has skyrocketed.
I haven’t seen a singular writing app more intricate , more in depth than this one , AND the membership is cheap unlike so many other total scams.
Everything is easy to use , pretty , aesthetically pleasing and tailored perfectly for authors , screenplay writers and poets alike , bringing together a community of creativity.
I couldn’t recommend this app any more, there is no other like it. The devs really put their heart and soul into this , and it’s clear to see just how much they care about this awesome app they have created.
The only thing I feel as though is missing , is the ability to Create project folders , for writers who have multiple books in a series , or a collection of poems they want to see grouped together.
It could really solve the whole having to scroll so much for those of us who like to write so much.
Werdsmith , if you read this , please try and incorporate this feature into your app.
Whilst it does add another layer to the simplistic approach you guys have gone for , it will in turn be a major quality of life improvement im sure many of your users would enjoy.

Why pay?
So, to put it simply, I love this app. It’s useful for writing as it counts my words, allows me to create chapters / sections along with typing in italics or bold but... and here’s the but, why do you have to pay for certain premium upgrades? The themes / colours, I get that, it’s an unnecessary luxury, so feel free to charge for it, but things like a novel or script layout and having more ideas or stories rather than the basic limit of six (?) ideas and four stories? You shouldn’t have to pay for that. Everything else apart from that is great, I love this app and I’ve definitely come a long way with writing, specifically concerning daily sessions, word goals and structuring my ideas / recording my plot points. Thanks for this app, but maybe consider altering some stuff... ❤️🙏😍🥺
