WFMU, the Freeform Station of the Nation, offers a full-service application. Listen to live streams, archives, and podcasts, view playlists and comment on shows in real-time, bookmark and share your favorite songs, download archives for offline listening, and watch WFMU video feeds.

About WFMU
WFMU is a listener-supported, non-commercial radio station broadcasting at 91.1 FM to the greater New York City area. It is currently the longest running freeform radio station in the United States.
WFMU's programming ranges from flat-out uncategorizable strangeness to rock and roll, experimental music, 78 RPM Records, jazz, psychedelia, hip-hop, electronic, hand-cranked wax cylinders, punk rock, gospel, exotica, R&B, radio improvisation, found sound, interviews, spoken word collages, as well as country and western music.

Maybe it’s just me, or maybe it’s the fumes from the wd40, but just maybe this might be the best radio station on the planet.
To start off with, WFMU’s main station is the bousum to WFMU Ichibah, but it’s this station’s rouge child that takes on the finest of 20’s, 30’S, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s Americana. This wild child spins out some of the greatest hits never heard outside of Montana and then an advert never heard since 1963 in West Pennsylvania on June third.
Basically what I’m trying to say is that here is a radio station that pumps out some of the wildest and greatest rock and roll songs that have ever been pressed to wax, but yet does it in a way that completely locates it in history and celebrates it in way that doesn’t judge you for ever hearing a beat of it before.
WFMU ichiban is just one of them pure wells of musical enjoyment that everyone can enjoy, from wilder beasts to lions. And when it comes down to it, all species can come together for a single resource, un adulterated music.
The World’s Greatest Radio Station
It is fitting that the world’s greatest radio station also has the world’s greatest radio station app. You can stream live across a choice of bitrates, and if you’re not into what’s broadcasting on the main station you can choose from alternative broadcast streams (Rock n Soul Radio is always brilliant), or years and years of archived shows. Add tracks to your favourites list and join in on the chat functions, and all for free. The BEST.
The best app ever
Honestly, this really is the best app I've ever used: suddenly I can get the incredible music from my favourite radio station with such ridiculous ease AND can download some episodes to listen offline. Dear god, it's just a brilliant thing
