Lovely Piece of Kit

Have WiiM Amp and love it. I have only given 4 stars as I listen to a lot of USB stored music and there is no way to select it using the remote control. I don’t understand why the source button cannot include the USB input. Apart from this oversight it’s a brilliant compact system. I have mine linked to outdoor speakers in garden so can unwind. I have had a traumatic time over last 2 years and this is one of my main escape mechanisms listening to my selected tracks that are very meaningful to me. ❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️

Excellent software that elevates the hardware to new levels

The WiiM home app goes the extra mile, from having the ability to lock a device to a particular mesh node (never seen this in client apps before, but very useful), to the continually enhanced RoomFit room correction feature - this works incredible well, even with just an iPhone microphone (though you can use an external calibrated mic if you prefer). Device configuration is comprehensive, allowing different settings per input for example, and features like Sub support (with sync tests) are exceptional. Better than all of that is the continual updates and improvements that the WiiM team deliver. Recommended.

Puts other manufacturers to shame with its speed and stability. In that respect, it’s a joy to use, never get any searching or buffering (looking at you, Naim). But, at the same time, there are things missing that are real head-scratchers: you can’t view albums, songs, etc. in grid view, only list view. I’ve got about 1000 albums (other users have many, many more) and having to scroll down that list to get where you want becomes a PITA. There isn’t even an alphabetical index on the right of the screen, which would make jumping around large libraries easier… just baffling.

I started looking for an alternative to Sonos after recent changes to the Sonos app reduced functionality and made it difficult to navigate. I got a little WiiM mini and I’m just amazed at how slick and easy it is to set up with the app and how easy it is to navigate music, save presets, set alarm and sleep timers and generally do the stuff you want to do. VTuner is a huge plus as it means I can access stations no longer available on Sonos. Great stuff.

What’s New: 1. DAC Digital Filter Type: Added descriptions for each filter type along with suggested music genres. 2. Roon Ready: Added an option to disable Roon Ready to reduce network load from service discovery and announcements (requires the upcoming firmware update).
