Generally Very Good — v4.0 potentially, Even Better

I just updated the firmware on my 2 players to v4.0.2 and the iOS App to v4.0.0. I was generally pretty impressed and happy with the v3 based offering but appreciate the change of direction with v4. (BTW, there’s a useful switch under Settings/“User Interface” if you want to revert to the v3 interface at any point after the v4 update.)
I gather that you need to build a usage history for some of the fields in the control app to be populated. The ability to “hop about” more directly between data views than you could in v3 is much appreciated.
I guess there will be some rough edges on this new version until feedback from users flushes out some of the problems not picked up in pre-release testing.
One thing that doesn’t work for me at all at the moment is the top level “favorites” tab in the iOS app on both iPad and iPhone. When I press this tab, all fields look as if they are about to update but they remain blank indefinitely. It’s as if I need to take some initial action to set this up but, in the absence of any prompts from the app, who knows?
Any feedback from the support team on this one would be much appreciated!
Overall, thanks for a fine and comprehensive system!

Version 4 App. - Dreadful!

If I could give this App no stars I would! Absolutely terrible! Why did you even bother changing it? It was really bad before but now it’s worse. Still no improvement when it comes to making playlists, why not a “highlight” “drag and drop”? The “Preset” feature doesn’t work. Try highlighting a radio station and click “add preset” it says it’s added it but it hasn’t! The only presets I’ve managed to add are Radio Paradise which is on the front page anyway so not necessary! I found a feature under settings where you can revert back to the previous version but they’ve broken that version too now! If you click to open settings after reverting back to V3 and then try and “close” the page it’s just locked up and won’t do anything! I then have to close the App and re-open. If I choose an album from my collection to play it no longer displays the track listing on the right hand side, it’s just blank! I’ve tried “add next” and “add last” NOTHING! it plays but the track playlist is not there! So there’s no way of seeing what’s coming up next! I can choose 5 or so albums but there’s no way of knowing what’s been chosen. This used to work ok before. (Old version). I’ve now tried reverting back to the new version but the only way to do that as far as I can see is to delete the App and reinstall! How on Earth have you broken it so badly!?? It’s a disaster!

Elegant and useful... up there with the best of streaming software

Been really impressed with BluOS on a Node 2i which I have had for a couple of months. The iOS and iPadOS apps are both stable, yet relatively feature rich.

Of course, there is always room for improvement (Plex and Chromecast support would round off a very impressive list already). This is the reason for 4 stars and would raise to 5 if they ever get round to delivering such an enhancement.

All in all, I am pleased with the platform and would definitely recommend it.
