Naim One Of The Best In Music Sounds Ever
I’ve been a fan of Naim since the early 1980’s one of my first set ups was a Naim pre amp and amp with a record deck and Epos speakers you thought the band you was playing in the same room as yourself unbelievable sound quality but time moves on and the way we play music from records and tapes to cd now digital I’m the proud owner of the mu so 2 and 4 mu so qb around my house they are great sounding not quite as good as my original set but not far off but for me with the new set up the biggest let down is Naim’s app and from time to time loosing the speakers one minute they are all there then they seem to disappear I’ve found myself resetting the speakers so the app finds them again the app needs work and as one person says the answer he was given was to hard wire the speakers your router surly this defeats the reason you bought the system so your able to use WiFi.
Speakers are fantastic app disappointing
Nope!
The latest update as of May 2022 has made things worse. Constantly does not start to play. I updated firmware yesterday too. Appreciate all that the app has to juggle with, however now if you left your ipad upstairs connected to your Naim and plonk yourself in your chair downstairs for a 10 minute cuppa and pick up your phone to get the hifi on it insists on you disconnecting the other connection. It never use to do this previously it would just take up where it was coming from. So you go upstairs and disconnect the ipad and then no app works or connects. So you end up doing things manually, and give up with convenience. The upshot is that that means Tidal streaming etc is impossible and you put a cd on……. whilst cancelling your subscription because one just can’t be bothered anymore. And well we at it how about adding a convenient search tool for searching all the internet radio stations in one go and not have to work through every country and state trying to find it, I meant to check that one out to see if it does now but just spent 15 minutes trying to connect and can’t……
Can't connect (initially)
Downloaded the app on my new iMac and it simply doesn't see the MuSo2. Found it straight away on my iPhone but now locked in firmware update part way through setup. Reading the reviews on the iPhone / iPad app fill me with dread.
Update:
Once firmware update was run, worked perfectly on my phone. Then the iMac recognised the now network linked Muso2. After 15 minutes looking round the app, everything is working perfectly. Took me 5 minutes to figure out how to change pre-sets but I've found everything else to be brilliant. No network issues, streaming beautifully on Sky router, Apple Airplay works a dream, got the rooms set up incorporating the Muso2 with other speakers. Its so good it's already got me thinking about a Qb for another room. Other than the initial hiccup with the iMac, I can't fault it.
