WireTap uses your iPhone’s built-in microphone to record your guitar, bass, piano, keyboard, voice and well… basically any musical instrument you can think of. While it’s built-in peak meter ensures a perfect sounding take every single time. From there you can tag, name, group and trim your recordings or even share them with your friends, all via the app, giving you an unprecedented fast and fluent workflow. I only got this pedal a few days ago and already realise how essential it is. For ages I’ve been recording riffs on my phone but the quality is always rubbish on playback.
This recreates the exact riff perfectly.
TC, please update the software as there are a few bugs when I’m using it with my iPhone 7 (not a super recent phone. The main bugbear is I can’t listen back to my recordings made with the pedal on my phone (the manual says swipe right but it doesn’t work).
I desperately want to give it 5 stars but it hasn’t been updated for 2 years so it’s not a lot to ask.
If it’s not syncing - it’s you not the app
I have an iPhone 7 at the time of writing. This app works perfectly, although the user interface took me a minute to figure out - it is a bit confusing.
Still giving a 5 as I can trim/export and listen from my phone - I didn’t even realise this when I bought it! (I assumed I’d have to go through USB).
And being able to A/B riffs and sounds on my rigg is freakin awesome (for ideas I put the wiretap at the end of the signal chain, if I’m auditioning sounds I record in a DI signal and can mess all I like without having to have a guitar in my lap the whole time.
Fundamentally flawed software
Having just purchased this new, spending a lot of time trying figure out the software, it’s such a shame that it just doesn’t work. My iOS device won’t playback or send files, kind of negating the whole point of buying it. If there are any plans to remedy this, then I’m all ears, and the pedal itself works fine. I feel like I’ve bought something that is not as described by Tc and I’ve got a product which is only half useful.
