WYA - Where You At 12+

When we found out about this app, we reviewed it with our kids and discussed it together and decided it was the right app for us. For safety and if needed, we wanted to know where they are and they also had the opportunity to know where we are. My kids are now 28, 21 and 19 and we are still using this app! With two in college eight hours away, it gives us the confidence we need and especially in the world we live in today that we can find each other if something happens. Not only that, my sister and dad joined our circle as well as they felt left out! Lol. This app helped us last year locate my dad when he didn’t come home on time and that’s how we found out he was in an accident and which hospital he was taken to. Unfortunately being elderly and since he hit his head, he was too confused to call us or remember our phone number. We love this app and can’t imagine not having it. I have recommended it to several of my friends and they love it as well.

We are thankful there is an application our whole family can use, together, and WITH each other. As a parent, we like to give our kids more personal responsibility with their devices. Part of that revolves around teaching them how to use devices responsibly. The other revolves around keeping people informed of their intentions and following through on their commitments. WYA allows us to do this by providing us with alerts as people get to their destinations. This application actually saves us from wondering “did you get there?” or having to remember to call and check in. And, it goes both ways. Our kids can do the same with us. We don’t use the driving features yet but I’m excited to see that, as we have the need for those features, we can capitalize on them as our needs change. Keep this application solid!

I began using this app as a way for my siblings and I to stay in touch with our aging parents. It worked very well for this purpose. On one occasion, my mom phoned my sister saying she was taking
my dad to the ER, however, she failed to mention which one. Through the app we were able to determine where they were going and meet them there. I quickly created a different group looping in my children and husband. When my son and I headed across country, my husband could ensure our safety from the comfort of the couch. My son even used to the app to track me down in a very large truck stop where we got separated. Over and over again, this app has saved us time and worry by keeping watch over us. Thanks for such a great idea.
