Unstable

Sadly the this app is no longer stable and lights appear offline, causing Smartthings to also not pick the lights up. I've messaged support but had no reply. Used to work perfectly.

No longer reliable

What happened to this? I have five colour Yeelights which used to work perfectly but now everything is chaos. The app sometimes shows that they are off when they are on and vice-versa but sometimes the app shows the correct status - so it cannot even be relied on to be wrong! Some of the Yeelights will not update their firmware. I don’t know if the app is at fault or the Yeelights but I just completely reset everything. So, the whole system is currently useless.

[edit] I decided to try my Yeelight bulbs again and managed to update the firmware only to find that this app seems to have had half its functionality removed - I can't save anything and pages on the app are blank.

I can use the Xiaomi app for some things but it takes two apps to do half of what one should do. Why does the app now require so many clicks just to dim a bulb? It would actually be quicker to take the bulb out and go and search for a different one in the garage!

Could you send me the color bulb types? For wrong status issue, have you tried to refresh the device list manually, sometimes app can not get the current status in an unstable network. Look forward for more details. Thanks a lot. Any issue, please contact ios-app-support@yeelight.com

Awful App. Full of bugs. Privacy concerns.

This has always been, and still is, and awful app. It’s full of bugs.

My first thought, why do I need an account and have to give my phone number just for a light?

Second, it’s full of bugs. I can connect my device, but add a scene? Nope, device doesn’t pop up when wanting to assign he scene to it. The alarm feature doesn’t work, just doesn’t start an alarm. I think this may also have to do with the screen just completely glitching out, so maybe there’s an Invisible ‘confirm’ button I just can’t see. I have an iPhone 13 btw. But every phone I used before this had its own set of bugs with this app (owned my light since 2016).

Lastly, it’s owned by Xiaomi. Go look up ‘Xiaomi Privacy Concerns’ on google to find out what they do. This app to no surprise asks for about 5 different permissions before being able to use it.
