I’ve found you can often tell how good an app is going to be by it’s icon and UI design. Not so Zoom Notes. The UI design isn’t bad in terms of layout, it’s just lacking in aesthetics, but please be patient, this is THE whiteboard app. You can also make documents of fixed scale, but for those of us who love the free form nature of an infinite canvas, I haven’t found anything that delivers outside of this app. The app is extremely well coded and comprehensively equipped with powerful, thoroughly considered features and customisation options, while giving you enough to get started up front. I just LOVE the fact that you can embed further Zoom Notes documents within the page of an actual document, making for a truly infinite, free form experience. It takes a little while to really get in to, partly because it’s powerful, but also because the lack of aesthetic refinement has a practical consequence. Form follows function / function follows form and all that. Simply spacing the tools so they don’t crowd each other would make a huge difference. However, having tried every app that promises what Zoom Notes actually delivers, and given that they’ve been around for a good while now, I feel confident in spending the time getting familiar with this incredible app with a view to using it for a long time. Only request, outside of hiring someone who understands how to bring attractive form and function to the UI (and that icon), would be a tree view for folders. There’s too much which is obscured with a simple grid view. Ideally a tree view would show documents embedded within documents too. Lastly, please do yourselves a favour guys and do something about the terrible preview image which your app gets in the App Store (a still from your video). It shows you in a very poor light and can not be good for sales. I really believe that if you were to get your functional aesthetics sorted out you would sell so much more.P.S - a previous criticism I made of there not being iCloud sync turned out not to be true, but it has to be configured on a document by document basis, which I don’t understand. But at least it’s there.
Excellent Array of Features, Poor Stylus Integration

This app has a wide array of features and is customisable in extensive ways, making it easy to organise your notes, your toolbars, pens, shapes etc. However, writing using an Adonit Jot Touch 4 is often a pain. The app randomly deletes or fails to record stylus inputs, making it a very frustrating experience. Disabling Adonit’s palm rejection helps somewhat, with all inputs being recognised, but the app still deletes text at random. I tried disabling all shape recognition aids, cross-out to delete, and other similar features, to no avail. While the app attempts to differentiate between stylus and finger inputs and discard the latter, the implementation is very poor, and there seems to be no option to disable this while the bug is (hopefully) fixed. In short, a prime example of too many features crammed into an app, making it a pain to get it to work just right. I suggest you look elsewhere if you are merely looking to jot down notes, and are not interested in complex pen customisation, shapes etc.

This app rivals note anytime and inkflow. The latter are more flexible. However zoom notes has a lot of advantages to a presenter and teacher: One can do connected maps of any kind One good addition would be the ability to add files and links: but then again this isn't the main function. Strengths: vector drawing; smooth handwriting; infinite fonts (pretty much) ; variety of colours; price ; Easy access It would be nice to have a normal view option with menu that doesn't have so much of the top of the screen taken up. What I like is that responses via reviews are taken up quickly - improvements . Better for my use than other multi media apps and again , a very fair price. This has been done and it would be nice to see video capturing the whole page image - or an option to do so. Subpages are brilliant though. In fact indispensable once one is used to them . Renaming remains a bit of a pain - like all such apps. A hold and menu option would be useful. Colours would be easier to change- more naturally. Great application that writes better than paper with a lot of paper size options.
Much better than others

I have spent considerable time and money on note apps. This is superior to most others, with all the usual features and has several additional unique functionalities for a one time purchase. It has taken me only 20 minutes to work out the interface. It has events and reminders options within the app in addition to a highly customisable feature set. It works on slightly older Macs as well, to give those who do not wish to upgrade their MasOS the option to sync with a very modern app on their new iPhones. It can save and import several document types l. Congratulations and thanks to the developer.
New: Trim edges (of images with transparent borders around them)
Improvements to 3d extrusion - now with ‘edges’
Fix for PDF Grids which have been copied between documents (via the cut/paste of pages mechanism)
If you are enjoying using ZoomNotes please leave a review - thanks.
