USD 29.99 · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Turn your iPhone into a gesture-driven performance instrument. Play chords, arps, and modulation with touch, tilt, facial control, and motion. Setup: midios.app/setup
Before installing, visit midios.app/setup for full setup instructions.
midiOS is a new kind of instrument.
It transforms your iPhone into a responsive, expressive performance surface using touch, motion, and a real-time harmonic engine — allowing you to play melody, harmony, rhythm, and modulation instantly.
No hardware.
No setup friction during performance.
Just play.
HOW YOU PLAY
midiOS opens ready to play.
• Tap pads to play notes, chords, and scales
• Tap bank colors to change musical modes (major, minor, etc.)
• Swipe to switch between notes, chords, and 7th chords
While holding a pad:
• Pull your finger toward you → Aftertouch
• Tilt your phone left/right → Mod Wheel
• Swipe → octave shifts, pitch bend, or chord inversion
You don’t need to configure anything — the instrument is already set up musically.
PERFORMANCE MODE
Long press the LiveGrid button to activate the chord + arpeggiator engine.
• Arpeggiator locks to your DAW’s BPM and phase
• Continues smoothly across chord changes
• Produces musical, connected note movement
This allows continuous performance without restarting patterns.
HOW IT CONNECTS
Connect your iPhone to your Mac using a USB cable and control your DAW in real time.
midiOS uses a companion Bridge app on your Mac to communicate with your DAW.
• Works with any MIDI-compatible DAW
• Optimized for Ableton Live with deep integration
With Ableton, midiOS installs as a Control Surface and enables:
• Clip launching and scene control
• Real-time visual feedback
• Transport and track control
• Two-way communication with your session
For full setup instructions, visit midios.app/setup
A REAL INSTRUMENT
midiOS is not a static pad grid.
It responds to how you move.
The system combines:

So every touch produces a musical result.
HARMONIC INTELLIGENCE
Stay in key while exploring advanced harmony:
• Chords, scales, and modes
• Voice leading for smooth transitions
• Secondary dominants for real musical movement
• Extensions and passing tones
You can explore complex harmony without needing theory knowledge.

midiOS turns your phone into a multi-dimensional instrument:
• Multi-touch performance
• Aftertouch (pull gesture)
• Tilt (motion-based modulation)
• XY pads, sliders, knobs, and macros
• Optional facial gesture control
Your movement directly shapes the sound.
LIVEGRID + DAW CONTROL
Control your DAW in real time:
