RackUp — Find an Opponent
Pool and carom across Greece
Only for iPhone
Free · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Who's playing billiards tonight? Say when and where you want to play. Players who starred that hall are told, and you pick among those who ask. 136 halls in 49 cities.
You know four people who play. Tonight, none of them can.
RackUp is where billiards players find each other, for pool and for carom. Post the game, the hall and the time, and another player takes the table. Or open the feed and ask to join someone else's game with one tap.
POOL AND CAROM
Pool's 8-Ball, 9-Ball and 10-Ball, and carom's 3-Cushion and 1-Cushion. Post pool as a race to 3, 5, 7, 9 or 11 and carom to 20, 30 or 40 points, or type in whatever you agree. One switch on Discover takes you from one to the other.
WHO IS PLAYING TONIGHT
Every open table in one feed, filtered by game, city, venue and category. Already at the hall? Switch on Play Now and your table jumps to the top with a LIVE badge.
FIND A PLAYER
Search a player by name from Discover, see their record and challenge them directly. Once a match is on, send your opponent a quick message such as On my way, picked from a set list.
FAIR GAMES, NOT RANDOM ONES
Every player carries a category, from Pro down to E, so you know what you are walking into. The host reads the requests and picks, so nobody gets double-booked and nobody turns up to an empty room. A verified check after five matches with no no-shows, a reputation score built on who actually shows up, and block and report wherever another player appears.
136 HALLS, 49 CITIES
A hand-researched directory of billiard rooms, in its own Venues tab: name, city, address and one-tap directions for every hall on the list. Some also show table counts, carom tables, opening hours or prices. New halls arrive without waiting for an app update, and if something looks out of date, you can suggest a correction from the hall's page. Check in when you arrive at a hall.
KEEP SCORE
Report the result, in racks for pool or points for carom, and your opponent confirms it. The rest follows: a record for pool and one for carom, win rate, current streak, your head-to-head with every player you have faced, monthly leaderboards, six titles and fourteen badges.
Look around first, no account needed: open tables, match details and every hall.
Sign in with Apple. No adverts, no tracking and no game on the screen: you play on a real table.
Made by players, for players. See you at the table.

2.3.2 15 Oct
2 new cities, Saronida and Leros, and 6 more halls. That makes 113 halls in 42 cities. From this version both cities show their Greek names when RackUp is in Greek, and you can pick either one as your city when you sign up or in Profile.
Follow on a match no longer shows for a player who can't be followed, and if a follow is refused, RackUp now says so instead of asking you to check your connection.

2.3.1 8 Oct
New to RackUp? Tap Look around first on the Welcome screen to see open tables, match details, the Venues tab and every hall's page before you make an account. Posting a game, asking to join, checking in or following a player still needs an account, and RackUp tells you why when you tap one. Before you sign up, the gear on Discover opens Settings, where you can change the language or send us feedback.
The pool table on a hall's page now racks your game: 8-Ball, 9-Ball or 10-Ball, with numbered balls. With no pool game in your profile, it racks 8-Ball.
13 new cities: Megara, Pyrgos, Ptolemaida, Katerini, Xanthi, Komotini, Nea Moudania, Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Agrinio, Skala (Laconia), Veria and Kos. That makes 107 halls in 40 cities, and you can pick any of them as your city when you sign up or in Profile.
Sort the Venues tab by Nearest, A to Z, Players here now or Open matches. Your favourites and your city stay first, and a hall with open matches shows how many.
Sign-up is clearer. It says what went wrong, tells you how to sign in when an email already has an account, and no longer gets stuck when the connection drops. The Verify your email screen counts down to Resend email, reminds you to check Junk or Spam, and lets you start over if you typed the wrong email.
Also in this update:
- Adding a profile photo is quicker.
- A game with a reported no-show and no score now moves to History.
- Back from a hall's page now keeps your place in the Venues list.
- A city's distance on the Venues tab no longer breaks into a column of letters at large text sizes.
- Stability improvements, for fewer crashes.

2.3.0 7 Oct
Hall lists follow one order: your favourites, your city, then the rest, A to Z. With location on, nearest first, and hall pickers show the distance in km. Discover's city filter follows the same order.
Hall search understands Greeklish: type athina, mosxato or kerkyra and it finds them.
Pro to E is now called a category everywhere in the app.
Fixed:
- App Store links from RackUp now open on a computer too.
- Your opponent now sees that you read a quick message, even after a bad connection.

2.2.1 5 Oct
Find a player by name with the search icon on Discover, see their record and challenge them directly.
Once a match is on, send your opponent a quick message such as On my way. There is nothing to type: you pick from a set list.
Hall lists show your favourites first, then your city's halls, then the nearest, in Venues and wherever you pick a hall, and Discover opens on the city you are in. To sort by distance, tap Turn on in Venues and let RackUp use your approximate location. It stays on your phone.
Also new:
- Post a race to 9 or 11, or type any race with Other. Pool races now go up to 100.
- Add a profile photo from Profile.
- Choose the app's language right inside RackUp, in Settings > Language.
Fixed:
- A crash that could close the app right after signing up with Apple.
- Back after the intro tour no longer returns you to the name step.

2.2.0 3 Oct
Notifications are here. Allow them and RackUp lets you know, with a sound and even when the app is closed, when someone asks to join your game, when a host accepts you, when something changes in your games or challenges, when a score needs reporting or confirming, and about an hour before you play. Star a hall and you also hear when someone posts a game or checks in there.
RackUp asks once, after you sign in and see the intro tour. Choose which notifications you get in Settings > Notifications, which also says when they are off and takes you to the iPhone's Settings to turn them back on. They come in the language RackUp uses. Tapping one opens what it is about and marks it read in Notifications. Signing out stops them on this iPhone.
Also new:
- Search the Venues tab by a hall's name, street or city, with or without accents.
- You can now pick Aigio or Naxos as your city.
- A saved-search alert in Notifications now opens the match it found.
Fixed:
- When the Welcome screen does not fit, on a small iPhone or with large text, it now scrolls instead of squashing its buttons.
- If your account was deleted, RackUp now signs you out when it opens, instead of starting signed in to an account that is gone.

2.1.0 1 Oct
On Discover, one Filters button beside Pool and Carom holds every filter and shows how many are on, so the list starts right below the switch. When no challenge shows, the way to Challenges is a card at the foot of the list.
Also new:
- A request the host declines now reads Not accepted, in Matches > Requests and on the match, and can't be sent again. You're told in Notifications.
- A disputed score now shows a deadline for reporting the right one: 7 days after the game. If nobody does by then, the game counts for neither of you and History shows No result.
- A level carom game can now be reported, and counts as a draw.
- When nothing is open, Discover still suggests halls, and on carom they show their carom tables too, where we know them.
- Cancelling a match less than two hours before the start, or later, warns you that it counts against your reliability.
- Deleting your account also deletes other players' notifications that name you.
Fixed:
- Reporting a score your opponent has already reported takes you to the match to confirm it or say it's wrong, instead of filing over theirs.
- A score reported after a no-show report now shows on the match, where you can confirm it or say it's wrong.
- When you contest a no-show report, the app now says exactly what happens: the report stops counting against your reliability, and your opponent is told.

2.0.1 30 Sept
Carom is here: 3-Cushion and 1-Cushion, next to pool. Switch Discover to Carom to see carom games, post one to 20, 30 or 40 points, and report the score in points.
Also new:
- Posting starts with the game, then what you play to: a race to 3, 5 or 7 for pool, or 20, 30 or 40 points for carom.
- Discover also shows a strip of halls.
- Venues is now a tab in the bottom bar. Halls show their carom tables where we know them, and each hall has a Suggest a correction link.
- Matches is split into Upcoming, Requests and History, with a record for pool and one for carom.
- Say which games you play when you sign up, and change it any time in Profile.
- Clearer screens while something loads, when there is nothing to show yet, and when something goes wrong.
- Report and Block now sit wherever another player appears: join requests, Looking for a game, challenge claims and the leaderboards. Blocking a player also stops you following them.
Fixed:
- Confirm score on a game in Matches now opens the match to confirm it, instead of asking you for a new score.
- Match details show your opponent's name, not your own, and update live.
- Reporting a no-show or disputing a score now asks you to confirm first.
- Posts made from this version no longer show a new player as Reliable before they have played.
- On Challenges, a new claim arriving no longer closes the sheet or dialog you had open.

2.0.0 28 Sept
A notification that someone wants your challenge now opens Challenges, and score and match reminders no longer arrive twice.
Also fixed:
- When a score is disputed, only the player who reported it is told, not the player who disputed it.
- The Level filter in Discover now finds challenges by the levels they welcome, not by the host's level.
- You can save the same search again for another day or time. An exact repeat tells you it is already saved.
- Matches, challenges and Looking for a game entries now leave Discover as soon as they expire, even when nothing else changes.
- When your city is quiet, the count of open tables elsewhere in Greece now includes challenges.
- In Statistics, a draw among your last matches shows as a draw, not a loss.

1.9.1 24 Sept
Open challenges now show in Discover, next to the matches. When the host picks you, the challenge becomes a real match in My games, so you can report the score. Another player's challenge now has Report and Block, like a match.
Also new:
- Follow a player from any match of theirs, and get a notification in the app when they post a new match.
- Not sure exactly when you can play? Tap I'm free to play in Discover and say which day and part of the day suits you, at a hall or anywhere in your city. Other players see it and can post a game for it, and you get a notification in the app when one fits.
- The venues list and each venue page show how many players are checked in there now.
- A venue page lists the open matches at that hall and has a button to post a match there. Most halls now have a Call button with their phone number.
- Saved searches can ask for weekdays or weekends, and mornings, afternoons or evenings.
- Report a race to 10 or longer: scores go up to 25, and a finished match shows the race.
- A draw can no longer be reported, since a game of pool always has a winner, and a draw saved earlier no longer counts as a loss in your stats.
- A match My schedule posted for you that nobody joined no longer counts against your reliability.
- Discover now opens on the city on your profile, with one tap to see all of Greece, and suggests places to play when nobody has posted.
- Signing up with Apple now asks for your city and skill category, like email sign-up.
- Set or clear your city in Edit profile.
- Signing in or creating an account with email while offline now says you are offline, with a Try again button.
- Pull to refresh on Notifications, Challenges and My schedule.
- Challenges, Notifications, My schedule and Leaderboards tell you when they cannot load, and let you try again.
- A match that no longer exists says so, and its notification offers Delete.
