SCAM! Useless app

Filled in a long questionnaire asking for body weight, diet goal, preferred cuisine, food that i dislike, etc. Sounded promising. BUT, after payment the app doesn’t recommend dishes that fit your goal, fyi they suggested sambal (just a sauce) for dinner, and only pickles for lunch. The total calories intake according to the suggested meal is only 34 calories for lunch + dinner, not realistic at all. The ‘generate-recipe-according-to-what-you-have’ function doesn’t work as well. I tried typing simple ingredient like fish or salmon, and the app returned with ‘results not found’. Basically it is just a scam and i want to be refunded 5 minutes after i paid!!!

Misleading trial, unexpected charges, and poor functionality

If I could give zero stars, I would. The app promised a three‑month free trial with billing starting in December, yet I was charged during the trial—and my refund request was rejected. The features don’t match the advertisements, which feels like basic dishonesty. Don’t fall into their trap. I’ve deleted the app and my account.

Thank you for your message, and we’re truly sorry for the disappointment and frustration this has caused. We completely understand how upsetting it is to expect a three-month free trial, only to be charged immediately and then have your refund request denied.

Since all subscriptions on iPhone are billed through the App Store, the timing of charges and refund decisions are fully managed by Apple. We as developers do not have access to your billing details and cannot issue refunds ourselves. If Apple rejected your request, the only way to appeal is to reply directly to their decision email or contact Apple Support by chat or phone to request a manual review.

We also sincerely apologize for the gap you felt between the advertised features and the in-app experience. Your feedback is very important, and we’ll use it to ensure clearer communication about trials and to improve feature reliability.

Update erased all data from the app

After the recent update (16/Sep/2025), all data saved in the app is gone, cant search for any recipes, all the favourites gone, all my previous records gone

Since you’re using Eatr on iPhone, please try the following steps:

Make sure you are logged in with the same Apple ID you originally used — all data is tied to your account.

Restart the app and check if your recipes and favorites reappear.

If the issue continues, delete and reinstall the app to refresh the sync with your Apple account.

If after these steps your data is still missing, please reply with the Apple ID you used for login (just the address, not your password), so we can escalate your case to our technical team for investigation.

Wasted your time to fill in a long long questionnaire, at the end with nothing useful.
7 days free trials is fake.
The menu function doesn’t work at all.

Please be assured that the free trial is real, but billing and access are managed entirely by Apple or Google Play. In some cases, if a trial was used before on the same account or region, the system may skip it and charge immediately — something we unfortunately cannot override.

As for the menu function not working, this is not the experience we want you to have. Could you please make sure you’re on the latest app version and try reinstalling? If the problem continues, we’d appreciate a screenshot of the error so our technical team can investigate further.

Rubbish app

claims they use AI to scan what you eat, but i wait 30mins still cant scan just one banana, same situation when i use type in

The AI scanner should process results within seconds. If it doesn’t, it usually means there’s a sync or cache issue. Please try the following steps on your iPhone:

Restart your iPhone and try scanning again.

I wanted to try the 7-day free trial, but it pops up the payment plan and I accidentally clicked it, can I get my refund and try the 7-day free trial first?

The app doesn’t work after update ios 18.7😭I paid subscription but can’t use it
