SAPS battery life
Eli654321
This was a great app, but a couple of updates ago it began sapping the battery life. I read it once a day, and my phone would go from 100% to 40% charge in 15 minutes. Phone said that 60% of my battery usage was due to the daily mail app. Not just on my phone either, my partners phone is doing the same thing. Finally deleted the app two days ago and now I can go most of the day on one battery charge. If the mail can fix the problem I’d download it again, but the battery issue means it’s not worth using. (I also have background app refresh and other battery sapping functions for the app turned off)
Went to subscription with no warning DO NOT UPGRADE
royhardy
After upgrading to Version 4.4 , I opened the app to find that without any warning the app has gone to a paid version $43 pm or you are limited to 20 articles per month .This is deceitful after the app has been free to everyone with ads for years . At the very least they could have warned you that it was upgrading to a paid subscription .I won’t be paying ,so they can count me out as a user . This is a very poor move either give you the choice ,ads with free access or no ads and paid subscription
Really?
mojidean
So after a few years of using this app to pass time, they now limit the amount of articles you can read? 12 articles per MONTH? Now I understand if the limit was 12 per day... but they really are pushing you to pay $43a month!! I go on DailyMail to pass time and not for serious news... so to pay $43 for poorly written, not always 100% accurate articles is taking the real mick! I definitely won’t be paying for this overpriced app.. $43 a year would be more like it. I’ll be subscribing to other news apps that’ll give me more concise and non-repetitive rubbish.
New hubs channel UI & bug fixes.
