Share to Outline • Share videos from Photos or any other app, or drag them straight into a page. • Large photos and attachments now save instantly on iPhone and iPad, even a full-resolution shot from your camera. • Shared photos and files land on their page complete, with the page named once its content is in place. iPad and iOS 26 • The editing toolbar sits exactly where it belongs in full-screen and full-page modes. • The toolbar's color swatch shows the colors of the selected text, and a tap opens the color picker. • The keyboard keeps out of the way when you create or rename a page, section or section group at the bottom of the tree. • The notebook sidebar keeps its full height with the keyboard up, and Open Notebook appears clear of the keyboard. Sync and iCloud • When iCloud is out of space, Outline says so plainly and keeps your changes safe until there is room. • Uploads now watch for a slow or stalled iCloud and report it, and a file counts as uploaded only once iCloud confirms it. • Default page properties and tags follow you across devices, and edits made on two devices at once are merged into one. • Removing or renaming a default tag now sticks. • Sync handles unusual OneNote section structures and very large sync jobs smoothly. Stability and polish • Cache maintenance runs quietly in the background instead of during startup, so Outline opens faster. • Pages split from an imported PDF are titled "Page 2", "Page 3" and so on. • Notebooks kept in a read-only folder open normally, and new section groups are saved right away. This release fixes an important issue where images pasted onto the first page of a section could fail to save if that section had just been renamed. Read-Only Notebooks Protect any notebook from accidental edits — mark it read-only in Notebook Properties. Redesigned Sync Status A clearer sync indicator shows progress at a glance, with an "unsynced changes" dot so you always know what's pending. You can now close a notebook while it's still syncing, and each notebook remembers its sync state between launches. Faster, More Reliable Sync • Notebooks now sync in parallel, so multiple notebooks finish faster • iCloud: slow transfers now recover instead of hanging, with clearer error messages • OneDrive & OneNote: fixed notebooks reopening with the wrong name and deleted sections reappearing • WebDAV / NextCloud: fixed a sync crash on servers that report locking support • Better handling of offline connections Faster Search & Performance Fixed search hangs and freezes, and made page and section switching noticeably faster.
