Dear AlpinQuest users, Every improvement in this release came from your requests and reports. We read each message you send us, and we are grateful for them. In this version: - Information in the KML and KMZ files you import is now shown in full. Tapping a line or an area opens its description data, and point names are readable directly on the map. - This information is now kept when you make a file editable, listed in the target details, and written back into the file when you export. - Your track recordings are now exported together with elevation and time. When you open them in other programs, the elevation profile and duration are complete. - For those who work with paper maps, a grid reference (GR) has been added. You can now read the same grid squares from your map sheet inside the app. - Automatic route creation was failing on some devices. This has been fixed. Dear users, Based on your feedback, this release includes important new features and fixes. What's New Navigate to target with AR: Open the camera, and the target will appear on the screen in its real-world direction; the large arrow in the center turns green as you turn toward the target. Scan the surroundings with AR: Open it without selecting a target, and the points around you will appear on the camera with their names and distances; tapping on one starts the navigation. Sun, moon, and atmosphere information added to the weather section: Sunrise-sunset, daylight duration, the sun's instantaneous altitude and azimuth, twilight times, moon phase and illumination rate, dew point, visibility, and cloud and fog risks. All of these are calculated without an internet connection. Coordinate stamp on photos: Location and date are now stamped onto the photos you take. Battery profiles added for track recording: (Precise / Balanced / Power Saving). Unnecessary location usage has been removed, and battery consumption has been significantly reduced. Improvements You can now add targets using ED50; the coordinate system you select is now applied throughout the entire app. In exported files, the target's coordinates are written in your preferred format; they will still be visible when you open the file in another program. Sheet numbers (e.g., F44H13) have been added for India Defence Series maps. The top bar has been simplified, providing a wider visible area on the map. Your measurement unit preference is now remembered and can be changed from the Location tab. Areas and circles are now listed in a single tab, under separate sections. Fixes Fixed the issue where the selected folder was not remembered; creation dates are now displayed on folders. We've made AlpinQuest more powerful and reliable in the field — a comprehensive update focused on 3D terrain, offline use and precise coordinate systems. 3D Terrain Map The 3D terrain map can now be selected as a map layer. All your data in 3D: targets, routes, measurement routes, areas and track recordings. Tap targets/routes to view their details, long-press to add a target. Draw a route on the 3D map. Live track recording in 3D, in real time. When a mission starts, the map rotates like a compass, focuses on the start point, with a live character at your location. Pitch (tilt) control, center crosshair + bottom data panel (elevation/speed). Download the 3D map offline — download the visible area, manage downloaded regions. New Coordinate System India DSM (WGS 84 / India NSF LCC) support — in the position readout, map bar, coordinate search and target info cards. Works fully on-device. Reliability & Offline Connection-aware offline maps — tiles are fetched when online, downloaded tiles appear instantly when offline. Track recovery — if the app closes during recording, the unfinished track is detected on reopen. 2D Map & iOS The compass screen was redesigned; live character at your location during a mission, "end target" badge.

In this release too, we've brought many new features and improvements shaped by you. Elevation & Terrain The terrain elevation of the point you look at/tap on the map now appears instantly. Thanks to prefetching + caching, there's no waiting; an area once viewed works offline too. A single, consistent elevation source for targets, the map center and slope. Map Loading & Layers Load KMZ (raster + vector), GeoPDF and GeoPackage (.gpkg) files. Colored stands + compartment labels for KMZ vectors; UTM/projection support for GeoPackage. Opacity control and a "show on map" button for all layers. GPX layers: multi-track import, on-map drawing, show/hide/delete management. Offline maps: white-tile issue fixed, z12–17 download, visibility of downloaded areas. Targets Connect two targets with a line by selecting them on the map. Add photos, audio and video to targets (pick / play / record). Custom fields and folder management for targets. More prominent target info, collapsible target chain. Per-target proximity alert.
